Lewis Cine, a first-round choice by the Minnesota Vikings, will stay in London for surgery after suffering a horrific injury during Sunday’s 28-25 victory against the New Orleans Saints. Cine’s lower leg sustained a complex fracture, according to a report published on Monday by NFL Network Insider. The Vikings said in a statement that after the rookie’s operation on Tuesday, a member of the training staff will stay in London with him. Lewis Cine was injured in yesterday’s game and was taken right away to a nearby hospital, where he underwent a successful operation to prepare for surgery tomorrow, Tuesday, October 4, the team announced in a statement. “Lewis will stay in London after surgery to complete his first rehabilitation before flying back to Minnesota when it’s time. Till Lewis returns, a member of the Vikings’ medical team will also remain in London. Lewis, who is in excellent spirits, has been in frequent contact with head coach Kevin O’Connell and other Vikings team members.”
