Last Sunday, Pittsburgh got a sneak peek at its quarterback of the future; in Week 5, the Kenny Pickett era will start. NFL Network Insider revealed on Monday that Pickett is anticipated to take over for the seasoned Mitchell Trubisky as the Steelers’ primary quarterback. After selecting Pickett with the No. 20 overall choice in April, Pittsburgh will proceed with what is seen to be an inevitable move. Trubisky defeated Pickett and Mason Rudolph in a three-man quarterback competition during training camp, but he was fired after four games. Pickett’s first career start against the Buffalo Bills (3-1) coming Sunday on the road is not exactly a charm. Following Trubisky’s substitution midway through the Steelers’ Week 4 defeat to the New York Jets, Pickett received a promotion.
