‘The brightest quarterback I’ve ever seen,’ says Daniel Jones

Davis Webb’s initial tenure with the Giants saw him serve as a backup to Eli Manning, one of the game’s best quarterbacks. Now that Webb has returned to New York after a four-year absence, he believes that Daniel Jones, the Giants’ current quarterback, actually outperforms the two-time Super Bowl champion in certain areas. “[Jones is] the hardest-working quarterback I’ve ever seen,” Webb told the New York Post following organized team activities on Thursday. “I think he’s the sharpest quarterback I’ve ever met.” These are huge comments from Webb, who has had the opportunity to play with some of the best quarterbacks in the game. Prior to Manning, Webb was a Texas Tech teammate of 2018 NFL MVP Patrick Mahomes. And for the past three years, he’s shared a locker room with Josh Allen, one of the game’s up-and-coming quarterbacks who has helped the Buffalo Bills re-establish themselves as a playoff contender. Jones believes his buddy is exceptional on the field as well as in meetings. Jones and the Giants both have a chance to have their finest seasons this year.
