Sunday’s Cardinals-Seahawks game might have a later start time

In the event that the Cardinals-Seahawks game on Sunday in Seattle needs to be shifted in order to prevent a clash with the Houston Astros-Seattle Mariners postseason baseball series, the NFL has a backup plan in place. The league said on Wednesday that, in the event that the Mariners force a Game 4, the game will, if required, be moved from its initially planned 4:05 PM ET start time to 5:30 PM ET. The football game would start at its scheduled time of 4:05 p.m. ET if Houston (up 1-0) wins on Thursday and Saturday to sweep the series. If required, the Astros-Mariners game is scheduled to start at 3:07 PM ET on Sunday. To trigger the backup plan, the Mariners must win one game. The Mariners’ T-Mobile Park and the Seahawks’ Lumen Field are next to each other, which would cause a traffic jam if the games started at their original timings.
