The 2022 season has ended for Shaquille Leonard. Following multiple tests, the Colts linebacker underwent successful back surgery on Tuesday morning. Leonard, who was placed on injured reserve on November 11, will be out for the remainder of the campaign. Leonard will need a second back operation this year. Leonard missed the first three games of the season while recovering from the first one in June. Upon his expected return, Leonard was promptly sent on the sidelines once more after sustaining a concussion and fractured nose in a loss to the Titans in Week 4. Leonard struggled to remain on the field after that, appearing in only 39% of plays in a Week 8 defeat to the Commanders and a little over half in a Week 9 loss against New England. He missed the next three games as a result. In three games this season, Leonard had a total of 11 tackles and one interception.
