J.C. Jackson, a cornerback for the Los Angeles Chargers, dislocated his kneecap during Sunday’s 37-23 loss to the Seattle Seahawks. Jackson will get an MRI on Monday to ascertain the degree of knee injury he sustained after the dislocation, according to Rapoport.
After the game, Chargers head coach Brandon Staley informed the media that Jackson had sustained a “serious injury.” On Sunday, Jackson hurt his knee late in the second quarter while attempting to stop Geno Smith’s 23-yard touchdown throw to wide receiver Marquise Goodwin. The 26-year-old looked to have a non-contact injury to his right knee, which he instantly grasped.
Jackson was being treated by trainers as his Chargers teammates gathered around him as he was on his knees. A towel was placed over Jackson’s head as he was finally carried off the field with an air cast on his right leg. Jackson’s withdrawal was immediately followed by the team ruling him out of the contest.
