Rob Gronkowski, a tight end with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, has decided to retire once more. Gronkowski, 33, made his retirement known on social media on Tuesday. In his statement, Gronkowski stated, “I want to thank the whole first class Buccaneers organization for an unbelievable ride, trusting me to come back to play and help create a championship team. I’ll be leaving football once more with my head held high, knowing that every time I went onto the field, good or poor, I gave it everything I had. I’ll be returning to my retirement community.” “The friendships and connections I have forged will last a lifetime, and I am grateful to each and every one of my teammates and coaches for giving it their all as well. Thank you to everyone for their support as I transitioned from retirement to return to football and win another title.” Despite this announcement, however, the player’s manager has stated that it would not be a surprise if Gronkowski would return in the next season.
