Rashan Gary of the Packers: I’m simply doing what I typically do

DSINFL Player

Rashan Gary was an athletically gifted but undeveloped prospect when the Green Bay Packers selected him with the No. 12 overall choice in the 2019 NFL Draft. He recently made some remarks on his leadership responsibilities in year 4. Gary, who had four starts in his second season after starting none his first, became Green Bay’s top quarterback threat in 2021 with 9.5 sacks. He leaned on players like Preston Smith and his former colleague Za’Darius Smith as he transformed himself into a rising star through a never-ending desire for education and improvement. He’s still shaping, but now it’s the young teammates’ brains that look up to him. “It’s somewhat insane. When newcomers ask me a question, I tell them to continue doing everything you have been doing since I had excellent examples in front of me. Therefore, I’m just acting naturally and doing what I always do. Just now, I feel completely at ease.”
