Due to an injury, Kayvon Thibodeaux’s second preseason game had to be abandoned early on Sunday. After sustaining a knee injury early in the second quarter of Sunday’s victory over the Cincinnati Bengals, the rookie for the New York Giants was declared out. The Bengals’ Chris Evans was about to be tackled by Thibodeaux, the fifth overall choice in the 2022 draft, when he was struck low by tight end Thaddeus Moss. The right knee of the 21-year-old Thibodeaux bowed inward, and he fell to the ground. The defensive lineman received care from trainers, left the field on his own, went to the medical tent, and then made his way to the locker room. According to NFL Network Insider, there is initial hope in New York that Thibodeaux averted a serious injury. After the game, Giants coach Brian Daboll told the media that Thibodeaux will undergo testing, but he had no other information. After the tests are through, we shall learn more.
