After having an appendectomy two and a half weeks ago, Joe Burrow’s comeback date was not known with certainty. After Sunday, the Bengals could have a more certain view. Since having his appendix removed 19 days ago, Burrow hasn’t been on the practice field, according to Sunday’s report from NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport. According to Paul Dehner Jr. of The Athletic, the Bengals’ starting quarterback was spotted returning from a walkthrough wearing a jersey and holding a helmet. Although it’s unclear how much Burrow contributed to the walkthrough on Sunday morning, any involvement is excellent news for Cincinnati. That’s not to say Burrow wasn’t at Bengals practice all along; after all, he was pushing a cart around the field less than a week after his operation. Prior to the Bengals’ preseason opener on Friday night, Burrow demonstrated another encouraging indication for his rehabilitation by doing sprints during pregame warmups. We shall learn more about his condition in the coming weeks.
