The New York Jets are bringing in more help on the same day they revealed they would be without their explosive rookie rushing back for the season. James Robinson, a running back, will go to the Jets from the Jacksonville Jaguars in exchange for a sixth-round draft pick that might move up to the fifth round.
Breece Hall, a running back for the New York Jets, tore his anterior cruciate ligament earlier on Monday, according to a report. With the New York Jets off to a 5-2 start (the team’s best since 2010), they were active buyers before the November 1 trade deadline and made a significant purchase in response to the tragic death of Hall.
The New York Jets have acquired Robinson, a former 1,000-yard rusher who has so far had a promising 2022 after recovering from an Achilles rupture in 2021. Although Robinson had a 100-yard performance in Week 3’s game against the Los Angeles Chargers, Travis Etienne has since taken over as the Jaguars’ leading running back. Jacksonville is now receiving at least a sixth-round pick for the former undrafted free agent after suffering four straight losses.
