Jameis Winston seems to have accomplished another step in his recovery from the ACL tear that ended his season last season. The quarterback for the New Orleans Saints uploaded a video to Instagram this week of himself throwing with his surgically repaired left knee unprotected.
Earlier this summer, Winston wore the brace while taking part in required minicamp and scheduled team activities. Since rupturing his ACL and sustaining MCL injury just over eight months ago, the Saints starter is now seen sliding back without any limitations.
Winston was on track to have an outstanding debut season as New Orleans’ starting quarterback before sustaining the injury that ended his season. The signal-caller had marched the Saints to a 5-2 record with a 14-3 TD-to-INT ratio and boasted a career-best 102.8 passer rating through seven games. After failing to acquire Deshaun Watson, New Orleans re-signed Winston this summer to a two-year, $28 million contract. Winston claims that he is going slowly through this procedure and improving every day.
