George Kittle is “not that concerned” about Kyle Shanahan

George Kittle, a tight end with the San Francisco 49ers, has struggled to perform in games thus far this year. Kittle’s return to the field after sitting out the first two games of the season has resulted in just six receptions on nine targets for 52 yards over the last two contests. In response to concerns from 49ers supporters and fantasy football owners about the tight end’s position in the scheme, head coach Kyle Shanahan emphasized that a healthy Kittle will ultimately revert to his previous form. According to Shanahan, “Kittle can get back into the rhythm the more he practices and the more he is out there and healthy. I believe that situation will resolve itself.” Before San Francisco’s season opening, Kittle unexpectedly appeared on the club injury list. He missed the first two weeks of the season with a groin ailment. From a statistical perspective, his comeback has been disappointing thus far, but his typically excellent overall performance has also fallen short of what fans have come to expect from the three-time Pro Bowler.
