Devon Allen, a wide receiver for the Philadelphia Eagles, will compete at the track and field World Championships in 2022. Allen, who finished third in the 110-meter hurdles event at the USA Track and Field Outdoor Championships on Sunday with a timing of 13.09 seconds, will represent the United States at the World Athletic Championships in mid-July.
With a time of 13.03 seconds, Daniel Roberts won the 110-meter hurdles competition. Trey Cunningham came in second (13.08). The top three finishers in each event at the USATF championships on Sunday at the University of Oregon in Eugene secured a spot at the 2022 World Championships.
Three victories, including one in the third-fastest time in 110-meter hurdles history (12.84 seconds), were among Allen’s recent accomplishments on the way to the World Championships. Allen has won the U.S. national championship three times and has competed in two Olympics, making it to the finals in the 2016 and 2020 Tokyo Games. Allen plans on returning to football in the future but as a world champion.
