Derek Carr: In the tough AFC West, nobody thinks much of us

In what should be the most fiercely contested division in the NFL in 2022, each of the four AFC West teams invested heavily in talent throughout the offseason. Stars Davante Adams and Chandler Jones were added to the Las Vegas Raiders. Russell Wilson was acquired through trade by the Denver Broncos. For their defense, the Los Angeles Chargers imported J.C. Jackson and Khalil Mack. And even after replacing Tyreek Hill with JuJu Smith-Schuster and Marquez Valdes-Scantling in their receiving group, the Chiefs are still the Chiefs with Patrick Mahomes and Andy Reid. Derek Carr, the Raiders’ quarterback, recently remarked that it would be enjoyable. You constantly have to put the ball down and play football games, and I believe that’s what makes it entertaining. Nobody thinks anything of us. Carr made a little error when he chose the “no one believes in us” tagline at the beginning of training camp. Many observers predict Vegas to return to the postseason this year. Someone will feel let down in a division that ought to be extremely close. The best players at this stage in the season are those who maintain their modesty and hunger.
