Concerns about his age won’t stop Velus Jones from rushing past people, he says

After losing Allen Robinson, the Chicago Bears’ already-sparse wide receiver group needed reinforcements this summer. Thus, the criticism immediately increased when they only selected one wide receiver—a 25-year-old—in the 2022 NFL Draft. However, neither the skeptics nor the opposition defenders will be able to stop the aforementioned 25-year-old Velus Jones. When asked if he was shocked that people seemed to be so fixated on his age, Jones responded, “People talk about it, but it doesn’t matter. After all is said and done, I’m a baller. I am aware of my abilities. Being 25 years old won’t stop me from outrunning opponents to score touchdowns and such such things. I’ll continue to be strong, quick, and able to make plays for a very long time. So, it really doesn’t matter.” Jones still has a 40-yard sprint time of 4.3 seconds, and during his senior year, he hauled in 62 passes for 807 yards and seven touchdowns.
