Competition among left guards, in Donovan Smith’s opinion, will improve everyone

The competition for the left guard position will heat up when training camp for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers begins the following week. Following the retirement of Ali Marpet and the signing of Alex Cappa by Cincinnati, the Buccaneers are replacing both starting guards. After being traded from New England, Shaq Mason will take over as the right guard. But there will be a training camp battle on the left side. Although second-round selection Luke Goedeke is anticipated to challenge veteran Aaron Stinnie for the position, Stinnie probably has a little advantage going into camp. Nick Leverett and Robert Hainsey are also contenders. Donovan Smith of the Buccaneers, who will line up next to whoever earns the job, thinks the battle will improve the line as a whole. Smith claims that he likes the present circumstances and that the current team composition will benefit everyone.
