The Cleveland Browns are bolstering their defense after giving up 465 yards of offense in a loss in Week 5. Deion Jones, a former Pro Bowl linebacker for the Atlanta Falcons, is being traded to the Cleveland Browns. In exchange for Jones and a 2024 seventh-round pick, Cleveland will send Atlanta a sixth-round pick in the NFL Draft. Jones, a member of the Falcons’ 2017 Pro Bowl team, has yet to play this season after being placed on injured reserve before the start of the regular season due to shoulder surgery. Jones, a second-round choice in 2016, rose quickly and contributed to the Falcons’ journey to the Super Bowl during his first season. Jones’ performance, however, has been worse recently, as shown by his 34.6 total Pro Football Focus grade in 2021. As a result, the Falcons advance, and the Browns acquire a middle linebacker who is a machine at making tackles, having done so in five of his previous six seasons.
