After his team’s game-winning stop against the Colts, Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni became noticeably upset on the sidelines. He aggressively removed his earpiece before rushing onto the bench to yell at a group of Philadelphia supporters. After a discouraging loss in Week 10, Sirianni felt that this victory, which raises the Eagles’ record to 9-1, represented something far deeper. After the 17-16 triumph, Sirianni told the media, “I’m emotional because I adore Frank Reich. One of the top football coaches I’ve ever worked with is him. I was hoping that during this game, he and I could coach against one another.” On November 7, Reich was let go by the Colts after a 3-5-1 start to his sixth season in Indianapolis. For the first three years of Reich’s stint in Indianapolis, Sirianni worked as the Colts’ offensive coordinator, which helped the 41-year-old get the head coaching position in Philadelphia.
