The Lobos won big over the Omaha Mavericks in their last contest, 103-71. Troy Simons was the games leading scorer with 24 points on 8-for-16 shooting. New Mexico dominated nearly every facet of the game. They had an offensive rebounding percentage of 40.4 and a turnover percentage of 17.1. For those same stats, Omaha had marks of 23.7 and 27.5, respectively.
In the Aggies last matchup, they were dismantled by the No. 21 Saint Marys Gaels, 92-74. With 11 points and 10 rebounds, New Mexico States Jemerrio Jones played well. Saint Marys 5.3 turnover percentage was their biggest strength over New Mexico State, who had a rate of 11.5.
The prolific offense of New Mexico State will clash against the mid-tier defense of New Mexico. Since last season, the Aggies rank 31st in offensive efficiency, while the Lobos are 141st in defensive efficiency. The Aggies should have the advantage on that end of the court.
