Both teams defeated their last opponent. The Knights defeated the Prairie View A&M Panthers 73-69, while the Hurricanes beat the Florida Atlantic Owls 74-60.

Miami dominated nearly every facet of the game. They had a phenomenally low turnover percentage of 7.7 and an effective field goal percentage of 0.492. For those same stats, Florida Atlantic was 17.4 and 0.394, respectively. The Knights, meanwhile, had a much better free throw rate (0.315 vs. 0.200) and had a better turnover percentage (18.4 vs. 21.2). The Hurricanes have had records of 12-17 straight up (SU) and 11-17-1 against the spread (ATS) since last season. Just over half of Miami games have finished under the projected point total since last season.

The Knights, meanwhile, are 21-7 SU and 16-11 ATS since last season. Over that same time frame, UCF’s games have had a tendency to go under the O/U total (59.3 percent).

Since the 2018-19 season, a focal point for the UCF offense has been to get to and convert from the free throw line. The Knights rank 10th in free throw attempt (FTA) rate (0.294), but Miami has been among the best in the nation at keeping opponents away from the charity stripe (ranking fifth by yielding a FTA rate of 0.163).
