Los Angeles Clippers vs. Utah Jazz Betting Odds

Both teams were triumphant in their last game. The Jazz (4.5-point favorites) edged the Phoenix Suns 96-95, while the Clippers (15.5-point favorites) defeated the Charlotte Hornets 111-96. The Utah game finished 22.5 points under the projected point total of 213.5, while the Los Angeles game went 20 points under the projected point total of 227.

Los Angeles dominated every facet of the game. They had a free throw rate of 0.229 (below their season average of 0.286) and an offensive rebounding percentage of 23.7 (above their season average of 19.5). Charlotte recorded marks of 0.120 and 20.5, respectively, for those same stats. Utah, on the other hand, made good use of their 39 trips to the free throw line, making 32 of them (82.1 percent). Phoenix was just 16-23 (69.6 percent). Rudy Gobert led the way for Utah, contributing 15 points and 18 rebounds. Kawhi Leonard, meanwhile fueled Los Angeles with 30 points, seven rebounds and six assists.

The Jazz edged out the Clippers in this series last year, winning two out of three games. In the last game, Los Angeles won 143-137. Los Angeles had a better turnover percentage (9.1 vs. 12.4). Utah, on the other hand, had a much better offensive rebounding percentage (29.8 vs. 23.1).

The Clippers are 51-35 straight up (SU) and 44-41-1 against the spread (ATS) since last season. Just over half of Los Angeles games have finished over the O/U total since last season.

On the other hand, the Jazz, have records of 53-33 SU and 49-48 ATS since last season. Games featuring Utah have had a slight tendency to go under the projected point total over that same period (52.6 percent).

The physical Utah offense seems poised to dominate from the charity stripe. Since last season, the Jazz rank fifth in the league with a free throw attempt (FTA) rate of 0.218, while Los Angeles has been among the NBA’s most foul-prone squads (giving up a 27th-ranked FTA rate of 0.226).
