Calgary Flames at Los Angeles Kings Odds
Moneyline and Over/Under (O/U) odds have not yet been posted for this matchup.
Calgary is 4-4 straight up (SU) and has lost 1.5 units for moneyline bettors this year. That early-season SU winning percentage is a noticeable drop-off from what the team recorded during the 2018-19 season (50-32). Four of its games have gone under the total, while three have gone over and just one has pushed. The Flames are 1-3 SU as the away team in 2019-20.
The Flames have scored on 18.5 percent of their power play chances thus far. That mark hasn’t moved too much from last season, when they were ranked 18th in the league by scoring on 19.3 percent of their extra-man chances. Their penalty kill has gotten stronger, as they’ve gone from successfully defending 79.9 percent of all opponent power plays (ranked 18th overall last season) to 86.2 percent this year..
With a .919 save percentage and 29.0 saves per game, David Rittich (4-3-1) has been the top option in goal for Calgary this year. If Calgary chooses to rest him, however, they may go with Cam Talbot (0-1 record, .850 save percentage, 3.16 goals against average).
Los Angeles is 2-5 straight up (SU) and has lost 1.8 units for moneyline bettors this year. Through seven regular season matches, five of its games have gone over the total, while two have gone under and none have pushed. It’s 1-3 SU at home thus far.
The Kings have converted on 8.3 percent of their extra-man advantages this year after scoring on 15.8 percent (ranked 28th in league) last season. They have killed off an impressive 65.2 percent of all penalties, a few points lower than the 76.2 percent they posted a year ago (when they were ranked 29th in the NHL).
Jack Campbell (24.0 saves per game) has been the primary netminder in the crease for the Kings. Campbell has two wins and two losses to his name and has registered a fairly-weak .897 save percentage and 2.77 goals against average this season.
