Houston Rockets at Brooklyn Nets ATS Odds

Neither team was able to cover in their last outing. The Nets (2-point favorites) beat the Detroit Pistons, 120-119, while the Rockets (4.5-point favorites) were defeated by the Portland Trail Blazers, 104-85. The Brooklyn game finished 22 points over the projected point total of 217, while the Houston game went 34.5 points under the projected point total of 223.5.

Brooklyn played a nearly perfect contest. They had a superb offensive rebounding percentage of 30.5 (above their season average of 22.6) and a turnover percentage of 12.3 (better than their season average of 15.0). Detroit put up marks of 27.5 and 12.7, respectively, for those same stats. Houston, on the other hand, forced Portland into a turnover percentage of 15.9 (above their season average of 12.1). Brooklyn’s Caris LeVert had a good outing, finishing with 19 points, six rebounds and six assists. Meanwhile, Houston was led by Clint Capela, who recorded 14 points and 14 rebounds.

The Rockets dominated this series last year, emerging victorious in both contests. In the most recent matchup, Houston won 123-113. Houston did a terrific job of making free throws (17-21; 81.0 percent). Brooklyn, on the other hand, had a better offensive rebounding percentage (23.8 vs. 22.9).

Vegas tends to place the total low when the Rockets are involved, as four of their six contests have gone over the total. Houston comes into the contest with records of 1-5 straight up (SU) and 1-5 against the spread (ATS).

Vegas is highly accurate when setting the O/U total of Nets games, with an even split between overs and unders. Moreover, Brooklyn owns records of 3-5 SU and 4-4 ATS.

It might be a tough matchup for Brooklyn on the offensive glass. Dating back to last season, the Nets rank 22nd in offensive rebounding percentage (21.2 percent), while Houston ranks fourth in defensive rebounding percentage (79.7 percent). Additionally, the Rockets’ third-ranked offense (offensive efficiency of 111.5) will square off against the Nets’ 25th-ranked defense (defensive efficiency of 109.1).
