Duquesne Dukes at Pittsburgh Panthers ATS Odds

In their last outing, the Panthers lost a close one to the 14th-ranked Iowa Hawkeyes, 69-68, while the Dukes were victorious over the Massachusetts-Lowell River Hawks, 83-71.

Duquesne played a nearly perfect game. They had a turnover percentage of 19.6 (worse than their season average of 16.2) and an effective field goal percentage of 0.576 (above their season average of 0.504). Massachusetts-Lowell had marks of 26.7 and 0.491, respectively, for those same stats. Pittsburgh, meanwhile, held Iowa to an effective field goal percentage of 0.481 (below their season average of 0.554). Pittsburgh rallied around Xavier Johnson, who recorded 18 points and six assists. Eric Williams Jr. led the way for Duquesne, recording 22 points and five rebounds.

The Panthers won the lone contest between these two teams last year, 76-64. Pittsburgh had a much better effective field goal percentage (0.616 vs. 0.457). Duquesne, on the other hand, did an excellent job of converting from the free throw line (11-15; 73.3 percent).

Half-court execution will be of utmost importance when a pair of the nation’s slowest-paced teams clash. Pittsburgh ranks 321st in possessions per game (66.6) and Duquesne is 269th (68.0) dating back to last season. Also, the Dukes, who rank 46th in offensive rebounding percentage (33.4 percent), will try to exploit the Panthers, who rank 330th in defensive rebounding percentage (67.1 percent).
