Arizona Coyotes at Calgary Flames Odds

The Flames (-150) are tabbed as the favorites over the Coyotes (+130), and the oddsmakers have set the Over/Under (O/U) at 6 goals (-115 over, -105 under).

Arizona is 9-5 straight up (SU) and has earned moneyline bettors 2.8 units this season. Eight of its games have gone under the total, while four have gone over and just one has pushed. The Coyotes are 5-3 SU on the road in 2019-20.

The Coyotes have converted on 20.9 percent of their power play chances so far. That’s a nice improvement from last year, when they were ranked 27th in the league by scoring on 16.2 percent of their extra-man opportunities. Their penalty kill has fallen off noticeably since last year, however, as they’ve gone from successfully defending 85.0 percent of opponents’ power plays (ranked first overall last year) to 82.5 percent this year..

Sporting a .940 save percentage and 26.8 saves per game, Darcy Kuemper (7-3) has been the best option in goal for Arizona this year. Kuemper did just play last night, however, so head coach Rick Tocchet may choose to rest him and instead turn to Antti Raanta (2-2-1 record, .914 save percentage, 2.96 goals against average).

On the other side of the ice, Calgary is 8-9 straight up (SU) and has lost 3.0 units for moneyline bettors thus far. Through 17 regular season contests, 10 of its games have gone under the total, while six have gone over and just one has pushed. The team is 4-2 SU at home this year.

The Flames have converted on just 15.4 percent of their power play chances this year, a mark that’s right around league average. On the other hand, its penalty kill is ranked fifth overall, and it’s successfully killed off 86.9 percent of all penalties.

David Rittich has stopped 29.8 shots per game as the top selection in the crease for the Flames. Rittich has seven wins, six losses, and two overtime losses to his name and has maintained a .915 save percentage and 2.79 goals against average this season.
