Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott announced that he will start Sunday’s game against the Lions. He believes he is, at least. The media questioned Prescott on Thursday about whether he intended to play again on Sunday after missing the previous five contests to recover from a surgically repaired right thumb injury he sustained in the Week 1 defeat to the Buccaneers. Prescott said, “I am,” before adding, “I think, at least.” On Wednesday, Prescott received a medical clearance to play again and completed at least 40 passes during practice. Mike McCarthy, the head coach of Dallas, said on Wednesday that Prescott will take the primary role in terms of practice repetitions. Prescott will undoubtedly get the start on Sunday. Cooper Rush, the Cowboys’ backup, has led them to a 4-1 record, but his performance has dipped recently. Due to their Week 6 defeat to the Eagles on Sunday, Dallas, which is 4-2, is now in third place in the NFC East.
