Toronto Maple Leafs vs. Montreal Canadiens Odds

Moneyline and Over/Under (O/U) odds have not yet been posted for this matchup.

Toronto is 6-6 straight up (SU) and has lost 3.0 units for moneyline bettors this year. Seven of its contests have gone over the total, while three have gone under and just one has pushed. This 2019-20 Maple Leafs team is 2-2 SU on the road.

The Maple Leafs have converted on 21.6 percent of their power play opportunities thus far. That mark hasn’t moved a lot from last season, when they were ranked 11th in the league by scoring on 20.9 percent of their extra-man chances. Their penalty kill has improved slightly since last year, as they’ve gone from successfully defending 78.5 percent of opponents’ power plays (ranked 25th overall last year) to 79.5 percent this year..

Boasting a .904 save percentage and 27.1 saves per game, Frederik Andersen (6-3-1) has been the best option in goal for Toronto this year. Andersen did just play last night, however, so Toronto may choose to rest him and instead go with Michael Hutchinson (0-4-1 record, .890 save percentage, 4.03 goals against average).

On the other bench, Montreal is 4-6 straight up (SU) and has lost 3.0 units for moneyline bettors this year. Six of its games have gone over the total, while three have gone under and just one has pushed. Thus far, the team is 2-3 SU at home.

The Canadiens have converted on 25.0 percent of their power play opportunities this year, a mark that’s good enough for ninth-best in the league. On the other hand, its penalty kill is ranked 31st overall, and it’s successfully killed off 67.6 percent of all penalties.

Carey Price has stopped 26.9 shots per game as the primary option in goal for the Canadiens. Price has four wins, four losses, and one overtime loss and has recorded a mediocre 2.85 goals against average and a poor .903 save percentage this season.
