The point spread also known as the just "the spread" or "the line" is used by bookmakers to predict that a team will win by certain number of points. The number of points is the point spread and the favorite is always indicated by a minus sign. If you bet on the underdog, you win if the underdog wins, ties, or if the favored team wins but fails to exceed the point spread.

A money line is used in baseball and hockey taking the place of a point spread. Here the team wagered on has to win the game outright regardless the score. As well as the point spread the favorite is the one with the minus sign indicates the favorite.

Over/Under is the number of points the bookmaker expects to be the final score of the game for both teams combined with overtime included. All you have to decide is whether the total points will be more or less than the number the bookmaker expects.
