How To Bet UFC
When you’re betting on UFC, there are a few options that you’ll want to look at. DSI gives you the option to bet on the fight winner, which is just a straight up bet. You’ll see odds like -120 or +250. What that means is if it’s a minus sign, like -120, that’s the amount you bet to win $100. If it’s a plus sign, that’s the amount you win if you bet $100.
You’ll also see different prop bets on happenings in the fight. For example, you can bet an over-under if you think the fight will be long or short, and you can also bet on how the fight will end (knockout, submission, decision and so on).
Holly Holm vs. Germaine de Randamie – Women’s Featherweight Championship Bout
Hom (10-2) has lost two straight as she was outpointed by Valentina Shevchenko in July, and that was after she was submitted by Miesha Tate for the bantamweight belt in March. Randamie (6-3) has won two straight since losing to current bantamweight champion Amanda Nunes in November 2013. This should be a striking exhibition as Holm is a former boxer with kickboxing skills, and Randamie is a Muay Thai specialist. Randamie was 1-1 in Strikeforce as a featherweight, so she has experience here. Holm has boxed at 145 pounds before, with varying success. Still, she has the championship pedigree, so Holm gets the edge here.
Anderson Silva vs. Derek Brunson – Middleweight
Silva (33-8, 1 NC) has four losses and a no-contest in his last five, although two were to former champion Chris Weidman (and one loss was due to injury), and his loss to light-heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier in July happened because Silva stepped in for the suspended Jon Jones at UFC 200. Brunson (16-4) had a five-fight win streak come to a halt in November via TKO to Robert Whittaker. Brunson is very strong and while Silva has the edge in technique, the fear is that the former pound-for-pound king is past his prime.
Ronaldo Souza vs. Tim Boetsch – Middleweight
Souza (23-4, 1 NC), better known as “Jacare”, scored a TKO win over Vitor Belfort in May, while Boetsch (20-10) knocked out Rafael Natal in November, his second straight win. Souza is a grappling ace with knockout power and he will stand with Boetsch, who has been stopped seven times in his career. He will get stopped again by a rampaging “Jacare”.
Glover Teixeira vs. Jared Cannonier – Light Heavyweight
Teixeira (25-5) was stopped by Anthony Johnson in August, while Cannonier (9-1) moved down to 205 pounds in December and beat Ion Cutelaba. Teixeira would like to make a run at another title shot (he lost to Jon Jones in April 2014), but Cannonier looked very good at this weight with his speed and boxing ability. Look for him to cause an upset.
Travis Browne vs. Derrick Lewis – Heavyweight
Browne (18-5-1) has lost four of six after a unanimous decision to Fabricio Werdum in September, and Lewis knocked out Shamil Abdurakhimov in December. However, Lewis did not look good in a split-decision win over Roy Nelson prior to that, and he was losing against Abdurakhimov before his knockout. He needs a good performance against Browne, who is tough, but he is a step slow at this point
