Indiana Pacers at Portland Trail Blazers Betting Odds

Both teams lost in their last outing. The Pacers (7-point underdogs) were defeated by the Denver Nuggets, 102-100, while the Trail Blazers (2.5-point underdogs) fell to the San Antonio Spurs, 108-103. The Indiana game went 12 points under the projected point total of 214, while the Portland game finished 10.5 points under the projected point total of 221.5.

Indiana did a terrific job of getting to and converting from the free throw line (26-37; 70.3 percent) while Portland held San Antonio to an offensive rebounding percentage of 9.8 (below their season average of 20.9). Jusuf Nurkic had a good game for Portland with 24 points and 16 rebounds. Thaddeus Young played well for Indiana, recording 18 points and 10 rebounds.

In their first matchup this season, Al-Farouq Aminu led the Trail Blazers to a 103-93 win. He registered a double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds. The two teams combined to score 196 points, which was well under the projected point total of 215, and Portland covered as a 4-point underdog. The Trail Blazers’ offensive rebounding percentage was their largest advantage over the Pacers. Portland had a rate of 24.3, while Indiana posted a mark of 14.6.

Vegas has a tendency to place the total high when the Pacers are involved, as 42 of their 70 games have gone under the total. Indiana comes into the contest with records of 44-26 straight up (SU) and 35-34-1 against the spread (ATS).

Unlike Indiana, a little over half of Trail Blazers games have finished over the total. Further, Portland is 42-27 SU and 39-30 ATS.

It could be a sloppy game for the Portland offense. Portland ranks 14th in the NBA in ball protection (turnover percentage of 13.2 percent), while the disruptive defense of Indiana forces the second-most turnovers in the league (15.2 percent).
