Matthew Boyd will get the start for Detroit. The left-handed Boyd is 0-1 with a 1.40 ERA and 11 strikeouts. He has yet to face the Pirates this year and only made one start against them in 2017 (0-1, 11.25 ERA and five strikeouts across four innings).
