UCLA Bruins

The UCLA Bruins were a major flop last season as they went just 15-17 under head coach Steve Alford. Another season like that and Alford could be looking for work. The good news for Alford is that he has a lot of talent returning and some very good newcomers. The only player of note who is gone for the Bruins is Tony Parker who averaged 12.6 points and 8.2 rebounds per game.

UCLA brings in freshman Lonzo Ball who is supposed to be one of the top players in the country. He averaged a triple-double in high school as a senior so a lot is going to be expected from him this season. The Bruins also added Ike Anigbogu who is is a 6-10, 250 pound center and UCLA brought in T.J. Leaf who averaged 28.4 points and 12.4 rebounds per game last year.

UCLA has Isaac Hamilton and Bryce Alford to go along with Ball in the backcourt. Hamilton averaged 16.8 points per game last season while Alford averaged 16.1 points per game.

UCLA Bruins Picks

The Bruins have way too much talent not to contend for the Pac-12 title this season. They have some interesting non-conference games that should give us an idea of just how good they can be as they play Kentucky and Michigan. The Bruins will be a winning team this season and there is every reason to think they will make the NCAA Tournament in 2016-2017.
