Louisiana Tech Bulldogs

Louisiana Tech won 23 games a year ago but they still couldn’t do enough to make a major postseason tournament and had to settle for playing in the Vegas 16. The Bulldogs head into 2016-2017 with a lot of talent including Omar Sherman and Erik McCree.

Louisiana Tech is hoping that 7-foot center Joniah White can make a big impact this season after he had a heart procedure in the off-season. There is not question that the frontcourt for Louisiana Tech is very good so the questions are in the backcourt.

The Bulldogs do have Derric Jean who should be playing the point and his play may decide just how good this team is in 2016-2017. He is joined in the backcourt by Jacobi Boykins. Also in the mix for playing time are freshman Jalen Harris, Qiydar Davis, and Jy’lan Washington.

2016-2017 Louisiana Tech Bulldogs Betting

The Bulldogs were right around the .500 mark last season against the spread but where bettors thrived with this team was betting the over as 16 games went over the total. Louisiana Tech could be a better team this season against the number and one that doesn’t go over the total quite as often as the strength of the Bulldogs for this season looks to be in the frontcourt.

Louisiana Tech Bulldogs Picks

The Bulldogs have enough talent to compete for the Conference USA title this season. They will need Jean to play really well and White to contribute in a big way but if that happens then Louisiana Tech could be a team to watch this season and an NCAA Tournament berth is not out of the question.
