Indiana Hoosiers

The Indiana Hoosiers made it all the way to the Sweet 16 last season under head coach Tom Crean who has turned the Hoosiers into a national power once again. The Hoosiers bring back James Blackmon Jr. who averaged nearly 16 points per game in his 13 games last season.

The Hoosiers will have to replace point guard Yogi Ferrell who averaged over 17 points per game last season. The Hoosiers also have to find a replacement for Troy Williams who averaged 13.3 points and 5.8 rebounds last season.

Indiana does get Josh Newkirk this season as he is now eligible and he should help in the backcourt.  Curtis Jones and Devonte Green are also newcomers in the backcourt. Zach McRoberts, a transfer from Vermont, and Grant Gelon also will compete for playing time while the frontcourt gets De’Ron Davis and junior college transfer Freddie McSwain.

Indiana will be solid up front led by Thomas Bryant who averaged 11.9 points and 5.8 rebounds as a freshman. He could be a lottery pick next year in the NBA Draft if he improves as expected.

2016-2017 Indiana Hoosiers Betting

The Hoosiers will need their frontcourt to be very good and they have Collin Hartman and OG Anunoby who should help out Bryant. Indiana was an excellent home team last season against the spread going 12-5 but they were not that great on the road going 4-6 ATS.

Indiana Hoosiers Picks

The Hoosiers are simply loaded in the frontcourt which means they are going to contend in the Big Ten again this season. The backcourt is a work in progress and ultimately will determine how far this team goes in the NCAA Tournament. If Newkirk can be a solid point guard then the Hoosiers could be a team to watch come March.
