Nebraska Cornhuskers

Nebraska is coming off an up and down season a year ago as they finished 16-18 overall and 6-12 in the Big Ten. The team did pull off a big upset on the road at Michigan State and they beat Wisconsin in the Big Ten Tournament. Unfortunately, the Cornhuskers didn’t do enough to finish with a winning record and they didn’t play in a tournament a year ago.

The Cornhuskers lost their top two scorers from last season so it might be difficult for Nebraska to improve that much in 2016-17. They do return Tai Webster who is the only senior on the roster. He averaged 10.1 points per game and will be counted on to do more this season.

2016-2017 Nebraska Cornhuskers Betting

The Cornhuskers are not going to get a lot of attention this season because they are not one of the contenders to win the Big Ten. Last season the Cornhuskers went 16-13 ATS and this year’s team could be a bit undervalued as well.

Nebraska added Louisville transfer Anton Gill and junior college transfer Evan Taylor. If Gill can come in and play well then it could open up the floor more for Webster and others. The team also has Jeriah Horne, Isaiah Roby and Jordy Tshimanga coming in as freshmen.

Nebraska is likely to be a small team this season with Michael Jacobson at center and Ed Morrow and Jack McVeigh at forward. It will be up to these three to try and find a way not to get pushed around by opposing front lines this season.

Nebraska Cornhuskers Picks

The Cornhuskers look very similar to the team they were a year ago and that is one that will pull off a few upsets but fall short of making any real impact in the Big Ten. The best case scenario for this team is to finish around the .500 mark and slip into a second tier tournament like the CBI.
