Colorado Buffaloes

The Colorado Buffaloes have turned into a consistent contender in the Pac-12 under head coach Tad Boyle. The Buffaloes won 22 games last season and made the NCAA Tournament. The 2016-2017 team could be just as good but they will have to replace leading scorer Josh Scott.

The Buffaloes return almost everyone else other than Scott so the potential is there for Colorado to be really good this season. They have a strong backcourt with Dominique Collier, Josh Fortune and George King. The questions are in the frontcourt where Wesley Gordon and Xavier Johnson lead the way. Gordon averaged 7.2 points, 7.6 rebounds and 2 blocks per game last season.

The Buffaloes did bring in freshmen Lucas Siewert and Dallas Walton who should provide some support and they have Derrick White who is a two-time Division II All-American. It would not be a surprise if White ended up starting sooner rather than later.

2016-2017 Colorado Buffaloes Betting

Colorado doesn’t get nearly enough respect from the oddsmakers or bettors as they went 19-12 ATS last season. The Buffaloes have a very good backcourt led by King who averaged 13.6 points per game last season. Collier was a good three-point shooter and he should team up with Josh Fortune in a three-guard lineup.

Colorado could go under the radar again in terms of college basketball betting odds which means they should be a team to follow all season.

Colorado Buffaloes Picks

The Buffaloes have the potential to be really good in the Pac-12 this season if they get some of their young players to develop and if White is as good as advertised.  There is no doubt the Buffaloes have enough in the backcourt so how far they go this season will be determined by how much they get out of the frontcourt players.

Colorado should be a team that challenges for 20 wins this season and another NCAA Tournament appearance is definitely possible.
