Arizona Wildcats

The Arizona Wildcats head into the 2016-2017 season having to replace a lot of talent from last year’s squad that won 25 games and made the NCAA Tournament. The Wildcats do bring in some good young players but it may take some time for head coach Sean Miller to get everyone on the same page.

The Wildcats have to replace Ryan Anderson who averaged 15.3 points and 10.1 rebounds per game.  They also have to find a replacement for Gabe York who was their top outside shooter and Kaleb Tarczewski who was a very good rebounder.

The Wildcats bring in Kobi Simmons who will start right away for the Wildcats. He was ranked as the 20th best player overall of any newcomer in the country and in the top five of point guards. The Wildcats also have Rawle Alkins who should start at small forward immediately. Also looking for playing time will be Lauri Markkanen, Jake Desjardins and Ray Smith.

The Wildcats bring back Allonzo Trier who averaged 14.8 points per game last season. They also have Kadeem Allen who is a redshirt senior guard and Dusan Ristic who shot 55% last season.

2016-2017 Arizona Wildcats Betting

The Wildcats were not a great team to bet last season as they went 16-18 ATS but at least at home they were 10-8 against the number. They were, however, an excellent team to bet over the total with 22 of their games going over the total.

Arizona Wildcats Picks

The Wildcats have the potential to be a really good team again in 2016-2017 but it may take some time to work everyone into Miller’s system. Arizona should be good enough to compete for the Pac-12 title again this season and make the NCAA Tournament once again. How far they go will be determined by how well the young talent comes together.
