We have our featured match of the week on the first day of December, and Napoli heads to Sampdoria in a top 4 clash. Napoli has found points in 9 straight matches, which has bolstered them back near the top of the table.Sampdoria is the only club besides Juventus to only have 1 loss on the campaign, and are quietly playing like a club who wants a European spot next campaign.

It's time to break down this weekend's matches, so we say Portare Su!

    Saturday, November 29- 2 Matches

    Hellas Verona vs Sassuolo

    3-Way: 1: Verona +275 Away ; X: +250 Draw ; 2: Sassuolo +105 Home

    Spread: Verona +0.5 -125 ; Sassuolo -0.5 +105

    Total 2.5: Over -115 ; Under -105

    Analysis and Prediction:

There really is not much disparity between these two. We have discussed enough of what we normally expect from Luca Toni, and even though Sassuolo has only scored 1 goal in their last 3, they have still not lost in their last 6 matches.

Berardi and Zaza, with Sansone and Floro alternating, has worked out fine for the black and greens of late, but Zaza will be suspended this weekend due to cards. What's nice is that each of them have the ability to change a match with some kind of assault on net, so they have the means to replace him.

I am not accustomed to seeing Sassuolo at an even money price as they are this weekend. As well as they are playing, they still have a lot to prove at this level. Last year, they barely escaped relegation after coming up from Serie B, but at least now they look a bit more comfortable here. Keep in mind, beside the magical draw with Juventus in this stretch, there isn't anyone else they have faced who are that above or below them. There is much to prove. At this level, Verona won both meetings last season, but that was last season and we can't just go by that.Verona has not exactly been playing up to par lately either. We are talking about a match that Sassuolo is actually ahead of Verona on points.

I see this as a 2 - 2 type match, despite neither club lighting up the scoreboard on the year. It is not about what they have done, it is about what they will do. I see goals here, so the Over 2.5 goes in at -115, even without Zaza on the pitch.

    Lazio vs Chievo Verona

    3-Way: 1: Lazio +110 Away ; X: +230 Draw ; 2: Chievo +280 Home

    Spread: Lazio -0.5 +110 ; Chievo +0.5 -130

    Total 2.5: Over +120 ; Under -140

    Analysis and Prediction:

What happened last time Lazio went away from Rome? We cashed our tickets because we knew their road issues would find their way back. It is amazing that Lazio can look so good, and yet look so dysfunctional when they leave home. Luckily, this is Chievo, and Lazio has actually been better overall on the road this campaign. It will just never stretch to 4-5 matches of success. We timed it perfectly then, and we will time the +110 on Lazio to take all three points here!

    Sunday, November 30- 7 Matches

    Inter Milan vs AS Roma

    3-Way: 1: Inter +350 Away ; X: +265 Draw ; 2: Roma -120 Home

    Spread: Inter +0.5 +100; Roma -0.5 -120

    Total 2.5: Over +100 ; Under -120

    Analysis and Prediction:

Well we thought Roma would start Totti in Champions League, and they did. An absolute last-second goal against them really tore their hearts out, with 3 points theirs to have and playing that well for 90' and then some. It is what it is, so now they have to rebound in a home match with Inter, who comes off the 1 - 1 draw in the derby with AC Milan. They were down 1 - 0 too, and it looked like they might not fare so well, but found a point regardless in an ugly match if you watched it. Unfortunately I did, and I will never get that time back now, so I will wash my hands of it and move on too!

Anyway, I don't see Totti making an appearance here for some reason. They have Sassuolo, Genoa and AC Milan left before the holiday break, none of which seem overly imposing, so with the cold, ugly match that took place in Russia, we can assume he will take a week or so off. Roma better find these 3 points, however they must, because Inter is not a club with one ounce of the offense Roma has. Mancini being back at the Inter Milan helm does change things completely for the rest of the campaign, but there will still be an adjustment period to go through for the Nerazzuri.

I will take the Roma 3-Way, trusting the Romans in Rome, hoping Brutus doesn't come for me later.

    Genoa vs Cesena

    3-Way: 1: Genoa +120 Away ; X: +215 Draw ; 2: Cesena +270 Home

    Spread: Genoa -0.5 +120 ; Cesena +0.5 -140

    Total 2: Over -115 ; Under -105

    Analysis and Prediction:

So Cesena has the answer all of a sudden? Is this a trick question? I am waiting for the Geico commercial to start where the guy says, "Did you know there was an oldest trick in the book" And the guy says "Looketh over there, HA! Madest thou look, thus endeth the trick."

Christmas may be a month or so away, but Santa came to my town early and left me milk and cookies with a note that says to take Genoa at +120 and spend some money on the family this year! Thanks Santa! Genoa it is, and what a price at +120. If they were home vs Chievo, they would not be near this +120, so we will have to take it.

    Udinese vs AC Milan

    3-Way: 1: Udinese +540 Away ; X: +290 Draw ; 2: Milan -170 Home

    Spread: Udinese +1 -125 ; Milan -1 +105

    Total 2.5: Over -115 ; Under -105

    Analysis and Prediction:

AC Milan and Udinese have similar stories -- can certainly score, but just seem to take days off sometimes. Even in the derby with Inter last weekend, we saw AC Milan with the inability to put a match away, even with a 1 - 0 lead. We discussed before the Udinese home and away issues, and here we are again with Udinese on the road. If they ever figure out how to leave home and play football, they could be dangerous.

I don't have confidence in anything here, but I will take the +1 on Udinese simply due to the fact that Milan just had an emotional derby with Inter, and they just can't seem to beat anyone by 2 goals or more.

    Atalanta vs Empoli

    3-Way: 1: Atalanta +280 Away ; X: +230 Draw ; 2: Empoli +110 Home

    Spread: Atalanta +0.5 -130 ; Empoli -0.5 +110

    Total 2.5: Over +125 ; Under -145

    Analysis and Prediction:

Five goals. Let me tell you how hard it is to win a football game in Italy when you have scored 5 goals through 12 matches.

Might we be talking about Atalanta in Serie B next campaign? Something, or someone, is going to have to lose their job. It didn't get any better off the field for Atalanta this week, as they were fined €30,000 for the crowd's antics last weekend vs. Roma. Empoli just has enough to get by Atalanta here. Denis is simply not doing his job, and the whole Atalanta offense has been exactly that, offensive, as in it stinks! To add insult to injury, Atalanta's Richmond Boakye will be suspended for 2 matches after his reactions to the referee's decisions being spoke of off the pitch.

I'll go ahead and expect Empoli to find 3 points at home at +110.

    Parma vs Palermo

    3-Way: 1: Parma +320 Away ; X: +245 Draw ; 2: Palermo -105 Home

    Spread: Parma +0.5 -115 ; Palermo -0.5 -105

    Total 2.5: Over +105 ; Under -125

Analysis and Prediction: Parma’s Afriyie Acquah will also be sitting after picking up his fourth yellow last weekend. Parma has enough issues this season, so any player's out of the lineup surely won't help. Oh, and yes, Parma does play with a goal keeper, he just happens to be blind, with one arm and a cane. Thirty goals allowed through 12 matches is simply ugly, and while we kid about the Parma net minder, the stats are what they are -- ugly!

Palermo is catching a stride, seeing a result in 4 straight matches and doing what they need to do. Sometimes people forget they spent a year in Serie B, since they have been such a mainstay in top flight, so they are now back and playing well. I will play Palermo at -105 on the 3-Way simply out of lack of belief that Parma can actually play football.

    Torino vs Juventus

    3-Way: 1: Torino +900 Away ; X: +425 Draw ; 2: Juventus -300 Home

    Spread: Torino +1.5 -115 ; Juventus -1.5 -105

    Total 2.5: Over -125 ; Under +105

    Analysis and Prediction:

Ahh yes, the team that can't score! Torino is in a world of trouble. It is amazing that Torino is still in Europa League, and they are making a big stink about theThursdaymatch to help secure the round of 32. Torino Coach Giampiero Ventura is practically begging the fans to come out and support them, and they surely will, but they have got to start taking Serie A more seriously. Seven goals scored and 15th place in the table has got to be a growing concern in addition to the European competition. I hope they winon Thursday, because they are not going to win against Juventus. The only thing that would stop Juventus from winning this match is a cancellation of the game.

Juventus -1.5 handicap, thanks! When you have scoring issues, let's see how they do against Juve away from home. That should be fun to watch!

    Fiorentina vs Cagliari

    3-Way: 1: Fiorentina +120 Away ; X: +240 Draw ; 2: Cagliari +240 Home

    Spread: Fiorentina -0.5 +125 ; Cagliari +0.5 -145

    Total 2.5: Over -130 ; Under +110

    Analysis and Prediction:

Cagliari is doing a great job finding the net this campaign with 20 goals scored, but they are doing just as good a job giving up goals as well with 20 GA.

Fiorentina is the club no one knows a thing about. Look good here, look bad there, and figure something out than forget it the next week, win, lose or draw. With a 4 - 4 - 4 record, they are easily the most erratic club in Italy. Not that it is the worst thing, as they do only have 4 losses, and have gotten points in 8 of 12 matches.

For us bettors though, it makes it tough to invest in a club who doesn't even know their own identity, much less one we have figured out.

I get why the Over 2.5 is juiced at -130, with both Cagliari's defense and offense. Cagliari is the last team yet to have won a home match yet, so that has got to come at some point. No one goes winless at home do they?

Cagliari is going on the board if I can find the 0/Pk Draw no Bet price within reason. It should be in the +150 range if Diamond offers it, as it appears in Europe.

    Monday, December 1 - 1Match

    Featured Match Napoli vs Sampdoria

    3-Way 1x2 Lines:

    Napoli +115

    Sampdoria +255

    Draw +240

    Spread:

    Napoli -0.5 +115

    Sampdoria +0.5 -135

    Total 2.5:

    Over +105

    Under -125

    Analysis and Prediction:

Welcome to December! The first match of the last month of the year. Napoli has been playing stellar football, as we mentioned in the opening stanza, they have found points in 9 straight Serie A matches. They will also get Jorginho back after missing last match as we mentioned last weekend. He is actually an integral part of their midfield presence.

Sampdoria is that club no one is talking about, but has played well all campaign. With only 1 loss so far through 12 matches, they have really done it with defense. You can see the communication is working, and they have done a great job of working together to keep the shots to a minimum. The quality shots at least, which are more important than simple shots towards the goal. Napoli also has a big Europa league matchon Thursday, which we will be watching, but will not have the news of before we get this play posted.

Inler and Higuain certainly know how to carry a club, and they can pressure Sampdoria to breaking down defensively. I will actually take this Over 2.5 at +105.It was 5 - 2 in last year's match here between these two, and both clubs want these points, with only 4 matches left before the holiday break.
