Serie A Week 4 Fixtures Featuring Chievo Verona vs Inter Milan

Soccer Betting: We find it hard to even say at this early juncture of the Italian Serie A campaign, but Chievo Verona and Inter Milan are our featured match of the weekend, as the two have surprised everyone out of the gate. Chievo was just minutes away from upsetting Juventus at Juventus Stadium last weekend, but the defending champions got a late penalty call to salvage a point after Paulo Dybala stepped up to the spot and leveled the match at one a piece.

Inter Milan is the only club in the league to have escaped the first three rounds with three wins, and they have done it with defense, as they have only allowed a single goal to Serie A newcomers Carpi before the international break.

Juventus hit the road this weekend to face Genoa, as each has only scored two goals in the early going, and are in the bottom half of the table as we enter the weekend. Juventus did, however, come away with a huge three points in their Champions League road game at Manchester City this week in their Group D opening match.

AS Roma looks to build on their 1 - 1 draw with Barcelona in their Champions League campaign, as they play host to upstart Sassuolo, who are among the seven clubs in the league to have not suffered a defeat.

Let's run down the matches on deck for the weekend, and get set for a busy time on the pitch as all of European major leagues will be playing three matches over the next two weekends.

    Saturday September 19- 2 Matches

    Udinese vs Empoli

    3-Way: 1: Udinese +125 Home ; X: +225 Draw ; 2: Empoli +245 Away

Spread: Udinese Pk -165 ; Empoli Pk +140

    Total 2: Over -145 ; Under +125

    Analysis and Prediction:

Empoli is still looking for their first win of the early campaign, but have an injury list longer than most people's shopping list when they head to the market. Eleven players appear as questionable or out for the Azzurri this weekend, although it appears that a handful of those will actually see some playing time in the long run.

Udinese has also battled the injury bug early in the campaign, although it does look like their most recognized player, Antonio Di Natali, might be ready to start after coming on as a late sub the last two outings,

Udinese is going to get the nod from us here this weekend, but it has plenty to do with the +125 offer that the line setters are putting out there, seeking some decent value in a home side that should manage to come away with three points, so the Udinese 3-Way offer of +125 makes the board as our first suggestion of the weekend.

    AC Milan vs Palermo

    3-Way: 1: Milan -140 Home ; X: +260 Draw ; 2: Palermo +450 Away

    Spread: Milan -0.5 -140 ; Palermo +0.5 +120

    Total 2.5: Over -105 ; Under -115

    Analysis and Prediction:

If you missed the Get More Sports World Tour Soccer Podcast that I host each week, we had Phil Schoen from beIN Sports on for the third time and brought up some of what is going on with the AC Milan situation.

Under new management, following the expected dismissal of Filippo Inzaghi and a new stadium coming soon, the future is hopefully going to be brighter than what we have seen.

AC Milan lost their derby to Inter last weekend at the San Siro, as the two combined to put 35 shots up, but obviously only Inter was able to find the net in the 1 - 0 win.Fredy Guarín found the net just before the hour mark for Inter, who dominated much of the second half while only allowing one shot on frame to AC Milan in the second stanza.

Palermo is one of those seven clubs we mentioned who have not tasted defeat thus far in the early campaign, and have only given up the two goals they surrendered to Carpi last weekend in their 2 - 2 draw at home.

We expect a bit of fireworks here, so the Over 2.5 at a reasonable -105 makes the board for the secondSaturdaymatch in Italy.

Featured Match Chievo Verona vs Inter Milan

    3-Way 1x2 Lines:

    Chievo +285

    Inter +115

    Draw +215

    Chievo +0.5 -135

    Inter -0.5 +115

    Total 2:

    Over -130

    Under +110

    Analysis and Prediction:

Who would have thought that this would be our featured match of any round this campaign? We might not have the same opportunity when the two meet on the back half of the season, but for now we are talking about a first place Inter Milan, and second place Chievo based on goal differential, although six clubs have matched their seven points of production.

Like we mentioned in the intro, Chievo Verona had Juventus on the ropes for 82 minutes, but a penalty kick given to Juventus saw Paulo Dybala step up in the 83rd minute and salvage a point in the 1 - 1 draw.

Usually that would seem as a disappointment, but taking points from Juventus in their esteemed stadium is no easy task, so Chievo should not have their heads down despite the late call against them.

The line setters reveal that they expect a low-scoring game, and we agree that we will not be seeing much scoring here, but a draw seems like a great play to make with the +215 action, so that is exactly what we are doing.

The Draw call at +215 makes our board in our featured match of the weekend at the Bentegodi.

    AS Roma vs Sassuolo

    3-Way: 1: Roma -250 Home ; X: +360 Draw ; 2: Sassuolo +825 Away

    Spread: Roma -1.5 +125 ; Sassuolo +1.5 -145

    Total 2.5: Over -130 ; Under +110

    Analysis and Prediction:

Roma should be zooming with confidence after going down 1 - 0 to Barcelona this week in Champions League, and ultimately coming away with a 1 - 1 draw.

The goal from Florenzi was absolutely spectacular from just across the midfield line, as Florenzi caught Ter Stegen off his line, and rung the ball off the far post and in the back of the net. Not to mention that Roma did that without the services of Francesco Totti once again, who is basically now just a coach wearing a Roma jersey, and hasn't participated in much this year other than one appearance against Frosinone last weekend.

Sassuolo took out Napoli on opening day, and have carried it on to finding themselves as another of the seven clubs who have not lost yet this year in league play.

We are suggesting this Under 2.5 at +110, because the +1.5 handicap on Sassuolo is way too high at -145, which is where we would have liked to go with the suggestion here.

    Atalanta vs Hellas Verona

    3-Way: 1: Atalanta +100 Home ; X: +240 Draw ; 2: Verona +295 Away

    Spread: Atalanta -0.5 +100 ; Verona +0.5 -120

    Total 2.5: Over -110 ; Under -110

    Analysis and Prediction:

Last year there was only one goal scored in the two matches in the campaign, and despite Luca Toni being questionable this weekend, he is likely to make a go of it from what we are seeing in their club news.

We expect a polar opposite from what last year brought us, and Verona cannot afford to let much more time go by without finding a win, so we expect a 2 - 1 battle here, pointing us to the Over 2.5 at -110.

    Bologna vs Frosinone

    3-Way: 1: Bologna -105 Home ; X: +240 Draw ; 2: Frosinone +320 Away

    Spread: Bologna -0.5 -105 ; Frosinone +0.5 -115

    Total 2.5: Over +120 ; Under -140

    Analysis and Prediction:

Frosinone and Bologna met twice in Serie B last year, and Frosinone took their home leg 2 - 1, while the two played to a 2 - 2 draw here at Stadio Renato Dall'Ara.

Even though two sit as the only two clubs with three losses in three outings, the two know each other and have already earned a sense of desperation.

Whichever club comes away with nothing here could put themselves behind the 8-ball earlier than they hoped, and the line setters are going by what they have seen from them both thus far.

We are going against the grain here, and slapping down the Over 2.5 at +120, catching the line setters thinking about trends, instead of the fact they will likely have some success against each other finding the net.

    Carpi vs Fiorentina

    3-Way: 1: Carpi +350 Home ; X: +240 Draw ; 2: Fiorentina -110 Away

    Spread: Carpi +0.5 -110 ; Fiorentina -0.5 -110

    Total 2.5: Over +115 ; Under -135

    Analysis and Prediction:

Carpi was the other club who came up from Serie B, and there they sit with the other two clubs who got promoted at the bottom of the table with Bologna and Frosinone.

Amazingly, Carpi has at least scored in all of their outings this year, and are coming off a draw with Palermo last weekend on the road, in which they deserved better. A last minute goal from Palermo leveled the match at 2 - 2, when it seemed Carpi was about to find their first three points in top flight.

We expect goals at Stadio Matusa, and the line setters see it differently, so let's see which of us knows better, as we offer the Over 2.5 at +115.

    Torino vs Sampdoria

    3-Way: 1: Torino -115 Home ; X: +240 Draw ; 2: Sampdoria +370 Away

    Spread: Torino -0.5 -115 ; Sampdoria +0.5 -105

    Total 2.5: Over +115 ; Under -135

    Analysis and Prediction:

Torino and Sampdoria are both among the clubs with seven points without a defeat, and are officially in the third and fourth spot in the table behind Inter and Chievo.

Sampdoria leads all of Serie A with none goals early in the campaign, and yet again we see a total that is juiced to the under for some reason.

We are once again offering the chance of the Over 2.5 at +115, expecting neither side to break away from what has gotten them to where they are so far this year.

    Genoa vs Juventus

    3-Way: 1: Genoa +385 Home ; X: +245 Draw ; 2: Juventus -120 Away

    Spread: Genoa +0.5 +100 ; Juventus -0.5 -120

    Total 2: Over -140 ; Under +120

    Analysis and Prediction:

If Mattia Perin were healthy, this could have been a premier matchup of two goalkeepers who are the past, present and future of Italian football.Gigi Buffon and Perin are recognized as the two best keepers in this league, while, of course, Gigi is seen as one of the best we have in any league in the world, despite getting up there in age at 37.

What a job Juventus did on Manchester City this week in their Group D matchday one outing, coming away with a huge 2 - 1 road win to start the group stage with three points.

Things did not look so promising early in their Champions League outing, as Vincent Kompany threw himself into Giorgio Chiellini who was trying to clear a Man City corner kick, but struck Chiellini in the head and found his own net.

Juventus got goals from Mario Mandzukic and Paulo Dybala late in the second half to earn Juventus three points as they attempt to get back to the finals, where they lost to Barcelona a campaign ago.

Let's see how that all carries over to this weekend, and throw in Juventus at -120 on the 3-Way 1x2 line to come away with their first win of the Serie A campaign.

Bet on the Serie A at BetDSI

    Napoli vs Lazio

    3-Way: 1: Napoli -110 Home ; X: +265 Draw ; 2: Lazio +315 Away

    Spread: Napoli -0.5 -110 ; Lazio +0.5 -110

    Total 2.5: Over -135 ; Under +115

    Analysis and Prediction:

Napoli and Lazio both began their Europa League campaigns this week, with each coming away with much different results.

Napoli pounded out a 5 - 0 win over Club Brugge at home in Group D's opening match, and Lazio of course settled for a draw on the road against Dnipro in the Ukraine, because we all know by now that Lazio is Jekyll and Hyde and when it comes to their home and away results.

We will not likely invest in Lazio away from Rome all season, because they are simply not the same club, so the Napoli 3-Way 1x2 line of -110 makes out board as the final play of the Serie A weekend.
