Soccer Betting: After most of Europe took a week off for Euro 2016 qualifying last week, the Italian Serie A campaign resumes with a featured match in Naples, as Napoli plays host to first place Fiorentina in the table. Napoli enters the weekend riding a six-match streak without a loss in league play, while also riding an eight-game streak overall including their Europa League campaign.

Fiorentina are winners of five straight Serie A outings, and are also at the group stage level with Napoli in Europa League, as the two clubs will be partaking inThursday'smatchday three of their exterior club competition.

The round kicks offon Saturdaywith the two usual matches taking place, with one of them being AS Roma welcoming Empoli to Stadio Olimpico. The Captial side looks to improve on their modest two-match win streak, while Empoli hopes to escape the bottom half of the table.

Among the eightSundaymatches we see the San Siro hosting Inter Milan and Juventus in the Derby d'Italia.

Let's get to the matches, and see what we can expect on the Italian pitch this weekend.

    Saturday October 17- 2 Matches

    AS Roma vs Empoli

    3-Way: 1: Roma -255 Home ; X: +385 Draw ; 2: Empoli +775 Away

    Spread: Roma -1.5 +110 ; Empoli +1.5 -130

    Total 2.5: Over -135 ; Under +115

    Analysis and Prediction:

AS Roma has now taken the lead on goals scored in Serie A with 17, and ride a two-match win streak in to their home encounter with Empoli this weekend.

The Capital club has scored nine goals in their last two wins over Carpi and Palermo, and sit fourth in the table thus far with one loss.

Empoli picked up their second win of the campaign against Sassuolo last time out, and dominated not only the stat sheet, but on the pitch as well. Sassuolo was held to one shot on goal that posed no real threat at all to Empoli keeper Lukasz Skorupski, who is, in fact, on loan from Roma.

Roma has hit four straight Overs, and Empoli has hit three straight Unders, so the tale will be which club plays their brand of football to get a result.

Even though Roma has been playing well, Empoli is going to have start picking up the pace if they want to get out of that pack with seven points near the bottom of the table.

We see that +1.5 sitting there on the handicap at a marginal -130, but it is a good offer to suggest since we do not expect Roma to keep that frenetic pace they have had lately.

    Torino vs AC Milan

    3-Way: 1: Torino +150 Home ; X: +220 Draw ; 2: Milan +205 Away

Spread: Torino Pk -135 ; Milan Pk +115

    Total 2.5: Over +110 ; Under -130

Bet on the Serie A at BetDSI

    Analysis and Prediction:

Torino is a perfect 3 - 0 at home so far in the early campaign, only allowing two goals while being responsible for the only loss Fiorentina has suffered this season.

However, the road has been torture for the Maroons, as they come off a 2 - 1 loss to Carpi last time out, which included an own goal from their keeper that got the scoring started in the 55th minute of the match.

AC Milan is right back where they were last campaign, having more questions than answers under new Serbian manager Siniša Mihajlovic, who is signed through 2017.

With two straight losses and being held to a clean sheet in each affair, the fans and media in Milan certainly do not want to see a repeat of the 2014-15 campaign that was filled with inconsistency.

Torino is doing everything perfectly at home, and with Milan struggling to score, the last place you want to head is to Turin to figure out your issues.

With the safety net in place if a draw hits the board, we are suggesting the Torino Pk handicap offer of -130, although the price is a little steep.

Bet on the Serie A at BetDSI

    Analysis and Prediction:

Our featured match of the round comes at the Stadio San Paolo, as first place Fiorentina travels south to take on Napoli, where the Viola has not done particularly well over the years.

Fiorentina has only one win in their last five visits to Naples, and has only two wins here since the turn of the century, spanning ten contests.

The Viola has reeled off five straight wins since their 3 - 1 loss to Torino back in round two of the campaign, and is tops in Serie A with only four goals allowed this year in league play.

Napoli trails Roma by only a goal in the scoring department with 16 balls finding the back of the net in their seven league outings, which is good for sixth place in the table entering this weekend.

As we mentioned in the intro, these two clubs will also be on the pitchon Thursdayfor their matchday three affairs in Europa League group stage,

Napoli will be heading to Denmark to face Midtjylland as they lead group D with a 2 - 0 record with seven goals scored and none allowed.

Fiorentina will be hosting Lech Posnan and trying to improve on their second place status in group I with three points, with Basel currently holding the top spot in the group with six points.

With 30 goals between them, we have no concern for what they have done defensively against other Serie A clubs, so the total is where we are headed for some action.

Naturally, you can assume we are offering the Over 2.5 at -125, despite the marginal juice on the play.

    Atalanta vs Carpi

    3-Way: 1: Atalanta -120 Home ; X: +250 Draw ; 2: Carpi +375 Away

    Spread: Atalanta -0.5 -120 ; Carpi +0.5 +100

    Total 2.5: Over +120 ; Under -140

Bet on the Serie A at BetDSI

    Analysis and Prediction:

Atalanta snapped their four-match streak without a loss the last time out against league leaders Fiorentina in a 3 - 0 loss that saw them go a man down just five minutes into the match.

Fiorentina converted the ensuing penalty kick a minute later, and Atalanta had to play the rest of the 90 minutes 10 vs 11 and down 1 - 0.

It only went downhill from there as you may expect, as Atalanta managed just one shot on frame and gave up two more goals along the way.

Carpi benefited from an own goal last time out in their 2 - 1 win over Torino, and picked up their first Serie A victory in club history.

The Serie A newcomers have still allowed 16 goals while only scoring 8, so there is still much improvement needed in the future.

We see this as an opportunity to catch the line setters sleeping on this total, offering a lovely +120 on the over 2.5.

A 2 - 1 result can surely hit the board here, so we suggest you take advantage of the play and the price.

    Bologna vs Palermo

    3-Way: 1: Bologna +165 Home ; X: +225 Draw ; 2: Palermo +180 Away

Spread: Bologna Pk -115 ; Palermo Pk -105

    Total 2: Over -135 ; Under +115

    Analysis and Prediction:

Bologna is already on a path to Serie B next campaign, with six losses in seven outings, while allowing two or more goals in their last three successive defeats. Their lone win came against Frosinone, who appears right next to Bologna at the bottom of the table.

After a 2 - 0 start to the campaign, Palermo has now gone five straight outings without a win, looking to snap a four-match losing streak entering the weekend.

We certainly know that Palermo has struggled away from home dating back to last year's campaign, making this match a tough one to predict.

Neither side has shown anything to convince us that they deserve action with our hard earned money, while both clubs have been a mess defensively so far.

Move this line to the Over 2 and 2.5 handicap offer to get close to +110 on the offer, because there will be no less than the two goals that would at worst push half of that action if need be. That third goal should come, so wait it out and enjoy the ticket with a better price than -135 on the straight 2.

    Frosinone vs Sampdoria

    3-Way: 1: Frosinone +200 Home ; X: +230 Draw ; 2: Sampdoria +145 Away

Spread: Frosinone Pk +110 ; Sampdoria Pk -130

    Total 2.5: Over +110 ; Under -130

    Analysis and Prediction:

Sampdoria has allowed two goals in all three of their away outings this campaign, while Frosinone allowed two goals in two of their home losses in the early going.

Why over analyze this one, because you should just move to the next preview, and take this Over 2.5 at +110, and barely acct surprised when it is 2 - 2 when the final whistle blows..

    Genoa vs Chievo Verona

    3-Way: 1: Genoa +105 Home ; X: +230 Draw ; 2: Chievo +300 Away

    Spread: Genoa -0.5 +105 ; Chievo +0.5 -125

    Total 2: Over -125 ; Under +105

    Analysis and Prediction:

The line setters have apparently given up on Chievo Verona offering a hefty +300 on their 3-Way action, giving them no chance to come out of Stadio Luigi Ferraris with three points.

This is where we completely disagree with them again, as we have stated before that Chievo is not the same pushover club they have been over the past few campaigns.

We see that Chievo +0.5 at -125 more than reasonable despite the marginal juice, simply because Genoa has done nothing to impress anyone thus far.

Bet on the Serie A at BetDSI

    Inter Milan vs Juventus

    3-Way: 1: Inter +165 Home ; X: +220 Draw ; 2: Juventus +185 Away

Spread: Inter Pk -120 ; Juventus Pk +100

    Total 2: Over -145 ; Under +125

    Analysis and Prediction:

This is certainly one of the most historic rivalries in all of Serie A, as the two clubs have met well over 200 times in all competitions. Coined by Gianni Brera in 1967, the Derby d'Italia pits the two most winning clubs in Italian football history representing the Northern region if Italy.

Juventus has had the most success recently, as you can imagine since they have taken the last four Serie A league titles. Juve is 3 - 2 - 0 in the last five league outings, and has won three and drew once in their last four matches played at the San Siro against Inter Milan.

The tides have turned it seems in the early going of the campaign, as Inter is the club sitting near the top of the table, and Juventus is muddling in the middle of the table. We've grown accustom to the opposite recently, but Inter has been very impressive on the defensive side of the ball this year, and Juventus is simply not scoring.

There is no love lost between these two, and we see a high scoring affair here, so move this line to the Over 2 and 2.5 handicap offer to get closer to even money than the straight 2 offers.

    Sassuolo vs Lazio

    3-Way: 1: Sassuolo +215 Home ; X: +220 Draw ; 2: Lazio +145 Away

Spread: Sassuolo Pk +120 ; Lazio Pk -140

    Total 2.5: Over +110 ; Under -130

    Analysis and Prediction:

Oh the escapades when Lazio leaves Rome!

We have discussed it for two years here at BetDSI, and nothing has changed just because Lazio finally found a road win last time they left home.

Sassuolo took their first loss of the campaign last time out against Empoli, losing 1 - 0 and getting extremely outplayed. With only one shot on goal, Empoli certainly was the aggressor as they put 18 shots up overall, and could have won this match 3 - 0 if a bounce or two had gone their way.

We are going to put up the Sassuolo Pk at +120 with the home side hopefully rebounding from the 1 - 0 loss, while again fading Lazio away from home as we have done numerous times before.

    Hellas Verona vs Udinese

    3-Way: 1: Verona +135 Home ; X: +230 Draw ; 2: Udinese +215 Away

Spread: Verona Pk -145 ; Udinese Pk +125

    Total 2.5: Over +105 ; Under -125

    Analysis and Prediction:

Hellas Verona is the last club left to have not found a win this campaign, and that has left them with four points among the clubs at the bottom of the table.

Udinese pulled themselves to seven points with their draw against Genoa last time out, but the losses of Zapata and an inconsistent defense has left them without a big time scorer, as Di Natale is certainly not seen as a big threat at this juncture of his career.

We see this as an Under type of match, with Luca Toni out as well for Verona, wondering where the offense will come in this affair.

At -125, it may not be the best offer we have made, but it is the best option we see here.
