Soccer Betting: As is the case with La Liga and Bundesliga, Italian Serie A faces mid-week fixtures to continue the early stages of the campaign, with football being played on six of the next seven days around the Italian landscape. From the small town of Rizzi in Udine in the North to the southern Sicilian Capital of Palermo, 20 teams will embark on a two-weekend tour of Italy and play three matches along the way.

With the first of a handful of mid-week fixtures over the course of the campaign taking place this week, round five will spread over three days, starting with theTuesdaymatch at Stadio Fruili with Udinese hosting AC Milan. Our featured match of the weekend comes in Genoa, with Sampdoria hosting AS Roma at Luigi Ferraris in a top-seven matchup in the Serie A table.

Both teams enter theWednesdayfixture looking to rebound from a tough weekend result, as Roma barely scratched out a draw against Sassuolo at Stadio Olimpico, while Sampdoria succumbed to Torino 2 - 0 on the road.

In the mountainous northwestern region of Italia, Juventus welcomes Serie A newcomers Frosinone to Turin, with the defending four-time scudetto holders looking for their first win at home this year in league play.

However, the Zebra's did pick up their first win of the campaign this past weekend against Genoa, which was indeed predicted by us here at BetDSI.

Speaking of Genoa, the Old Fools make a visit to Rome to take on Lazio, with the capital side hoping a return home can help them shake off a 5 - 0 beatdown at the hands of Napoli this past weekend.

Let's break down the rest of the mid-week matches on deck, and don't forget to find your way back here for the sixth round of Serie A this weekend.

    Tuesday September 22- 1 Match

    Udinese vs AC Milan

    3-Way: 1: Udinese +230 Home ; X: +230 Draw ; 2: Milan +120 Away

    Spread: Udinese +0.5 -140 ; Milan -0.5 +120

    Total 2.5: Over +115 ; Under -135

    Analysis and Prediction:

This match in Rizzo kicks off a seven-day stretch that will see two rounds played around Serie A, with six of those days having at least one match appearing on the schedule.

Udinese is now enduring a three-game losing streak after opening the campaign with a huge win at Juventus, so we now have to ask ourselves what the hell happened?

With only one goal scored since the big win, Udinese now has to face a confident AC Milan, who really could have scored about six goals in that 3 - 2 win over Palermo, as the Carlos Bacca show was in full effect. The class of the header-finish to make it 3 - 2 after Palermo had just leveled the score at two was amazing.

This is a home and away deal if there ever was one, with Udinese winless at home with two matches played here, and AC Milan doesn’t even have a goal scored in their two away fixtures this campaign facing two losses as well.

It was 2 - 1 here last year on the back half of the campaign in their second meeting, and we are actually expecting to see some goals here, despite the poor performances we have seen so far as mentioned.

With the Over 2.5 at+115, we suggest slipping the line down to the Over 2 and 2.5 handicap to get a -110 offer, in case they do settle for a 1 - 1 draw and the futility continues a bit and neither can find that third goal. Saving money here and there with these types of offers adds up over the course of a season, so when the price is not too set against us, there is room for plays on handicap offers and -110 works.

Featured Match Sampdoria vs AS Roma

    3-Way 1x2 Lines:

    Sampdoria +300

    Roma -105

    Draw +250

    Spread:

    Sampdoria +0.5 -115

    Roma -0.5 -105

    Total 2.5:

    Over -110

    Under -110

    Analysis and Prediction:

Francesco Totti picked up his 300th goal this past weekend, but the result of the match again was a draw with Sassuolo at Stadio Olimpico. Roma found themselves down twice in the outing, but despite some good looks late in the match, neither club was able to break the 2 - 2 deadlock.

Roma cannot afford to start this draw process again, after entirely too many draws last campaign almost cost them second place in the final table, while also leading Juventus to run away with their fourth straight Serie A title.

Roma keeper Morgan DeSanctis didn't exactly look ready to take over in net, as both goals scored by Sassuolo might not have gone in so easily when DeSanctis is on his.game. He didn't even move on the first goal, whether he was expecting a deflection on the shot, or whatever went through his mind on the Grégoire Defrel tally to make it 1 - 0 for Sassuolo in the 22nd minute.

It looks like Sampdoria is also going to be one of those clubs that can't play anywhere but home this campaign. They have gone 2 - 0 at home, scoring seven goals in two outings, but have given up two goals to both Napoli and Torino in two away affairs with only one point from the draw in Naples.

Let's see if we can't just once get a Roma total hit for us, and attempt a play on the Over 2.5 at -110.

    Carpi vs Napoli

    3-Way: 1: Carpi +520 Home ; X: +315 Draw ; 2: Napoli -180 Away

    Spread: Carpi +1 -110 ; Napoli -1 -110

    Total 2.5: Over -115 ; Under -105

    Analysis and Prediction:

Napoli was busy this past weekend, pouring in five goals against a Lazio club that continues to struggle away from Rome, as they have for the past three campaigns.

Carpi and Fiorentina met for the first time last weekend, and the Viola managed to completely shut down Carpi, which no one had done through the first three matches of the season.

We expect more success finding the net for both clubs, as does the line setters who are offering a -120 on the 'Yes' side of Both Teams to Score Prop, so the Over 2.5 at a reasonable -115 goes in the books as our suggestion here.

    Chievo Verona vs Torino

    3-Way: 1: Chievo +195 Home ; X: +215 Draw ; 2: Torino +165 Away

Spread: Chievo Pk +110 ; Torino Pk -120

    Total 2: Over -125 ; Under +105

    Analysis and Prediction:

Chievo may have fallen from second to sixth in the table because of the 1 - 0 loss to Inter Milan last weekend, but they certainly played well. Now, they have to move on from their first loss of the campaign.

Torino came away with a nice 2 - 0 win over Sampdoria this past weekend, and are tied for second in the league with 9 goals scored through the first four outings of the new season.

Torino isn't likely to sit back and wait for Chievo to make a move, and this total at 2 is actually strange, because we certainly expect that to happen.

With a semi-reasonable -125 on the offer, the simple Over 2 makes our board in Verona.

    Fiorentina vs Bologna

    3-Way: 1: Fiorentina -200 Home ; X: +320 Draw ; 2: Bologna +620 Away

    Spread: Fiorentina -1 -110 ; Bologna +1 -110

    Total 2.5: Over -115 ; Under -105

    Analysis and Prediction:

Bologna took out Frosinone 1 - 0 at home last weekend, to leave Frosinone as the only club in Serie A to have lost all four outings of the new campaign. Frosinone and Bologna were both 0 - 0 - 3 entering last weekend’s round of matches, in an early battle of futility.

Now Bologna can hope to build on getting their first three points of the year with a stop at Artemo Franchi, with Fiorentina who have taken three wins in their first four dances of the campaign, riding a modest two-game win streak.

Call this a gut call, but the draw seems like a possibility here, basically because there will be so few opportunities with both defenses playing rather well thus far this season.

However, the +1 does not seem like something to shy away from at -110, because obviously if the draw is in the back of our minds, Bologna will hopefully at least keep it a one-goal game to simply push the action at worst, so the -1 on the away side sneaks in as the play to go for here.

    Inter Milan vs Hellas Verona

    3-Way: 1: Inter -240 Home ; X: +365 Draw ; 2: Verona +680 Away

    Spread: Inter -1.5 +115 ; Verona +1.5 -135

    Total 2.5: Over -140 ; Under +120

    Analysis and Prediction:

One club has the 4 - 0 start this year, and we don't expect that too many people predicted that Inter Milan would be that club that pulled it off.

The Inter defense has been outrageous obviously, only allowing a single goal this campaign, while coming off a confidence building win over Chievo who had gotten off to a good start themselves.

The line setters are certainly pointing to a 2 - 1 Inter Milan win, reading the lines with a total to go Over at -140, and a handicap +1.5 on Verona showing -135.

So, where can we find some value? Because neither of those offers are exactly screaming value to say the least.

The logical thing to do in this case is move the line to a straight 3 and take the Over.

If they expect us to pay -140 for an Over 2.5, but will give away a straight 3 at +120, then why bother with the juice, and just go ahead and move that line to the Over 3.

    Juventus vs Frosinone

    3-Way: 1: Juventus -630 Home ; X: +650 Draw ; 2: Frosinone +1950 Away

    Spread: Juventus -2 -120 ; Frosinone +2 +100

    Total 3: Over -105 ; Under -115

    Analysis and Prediction:

Even with the losses of Pirlo, Tevez, and Vidal, among others who left Juventus in the off-season, seeing Juventus pick up that all-important first win last weekend could now set them in motion for a nice run of results.

Frosinone now gets to taste what Juventus Stadium is like, especially when they haven't won a home match in their first two chances here in Turin.

The -2 is our suggestion and Juventus could potentially win this match 4 - 0, and they should!

    Lazio vs Genoa

    3-Way: 1: Lazio -125 Home ; X: +275 Draw ; 2: Genoa +420 Away

    Spread: Lazio -0.5 -125 ; Genoa +0.5 +105

    Total 2.5: Over -110 ; Under -110

    Analysis and Prediction:

Lazio indeed played the Jekyll and Hyde role as we expected them to do last weekend, but when Lazio play at Rome, they just turn in to a different animal.

Genoa has been shutout in three of their four outings this season, scoring both their goals in the home match against Verona back in round two.

The last place you need to go when you are struggling to score is Rome, whether it is Roma or Lazio, neither side usually let much in their net at Stadio Olimpico.

Lazio winning this match 1 - 0 could surely come to fruition, so we splash the total with an Under 2.5 play at -110.

    Palermo vs Sassuolo

    3-Way: 1: Palermo +110 Home ; X: +235 Draw ; 2: Sassuolo +260 Away

    Spread: Palermo -0.5 +110 ; Sassuolo +0.5 -130

    Total 2.5: Over -120 ; Under +110

    Analysis and Prediction:

Palermo at home will score on almost anyone, and throughout this campaign, we will certainly be offering the Over as long as who they are playing is looking decent on the offensive side of the ball.

Sassuolo looked pretty impressive at Stadio Olimpico last weekend, and taking both a 1 - 0 and 2 - 1 lead against Roma only to draw in the end is still a confidence builder.

We are simply suggesting this Over 2.5 at -120 and moving on to the last match of the round.

    Thursday September 24- 1 Match

    Empoli vs Atalanta

    3-Way: 1: Empoli +120 Home ; X: +225 Draw ; 2: Atalanta +245 Away

    Spread: Empoli -0.5 +120 ; Atalanta +0.5 -140

    Total 2.5: Over +105 ; Under -125

    Analysis and Prediction:

Atalanta is about to play to three straight draws, and Empoli having at least one draw under their belt also gives the potential to see these two play to a 1 - 1 score.

We see this as a stone cold under, with only a handful of chances that create one good opportunity for each club that produces at least one goal for each club at best.

The Under 2.5 at -125 is our final suggestion of the round, and we will see you again for the round coming up this weekend.
