Soccer Betting: The third round of Serie A action gets underway this weekend after a week off for the international break, and the Italian pitch will be busy for the next few weeks to come. With another break from club competition coming in the second week of October, all of Serie A will be playing four matches over the next three weekends, with Champions and Europa League group stages getting underway this week as well.

We can assume that most people who follow Serie A are looking at the table wondering what the hell is going on so far, especially when you see five clubs that are 2 - 0 and Chievo Verona on top of the board due to goal differential. Even more so, the biggest surprise, of course, comes near the bottom of the table where Juventus appears after getting off to an 0 - 2 start with a much different roster than the one that has helped the Turin club take the last four Scudetto titles.

The derby at the San Siro highlights the third round of action, as Internazionale and AC Milan meet to contest the Derby della Madonnina for the first of two meetings this campaign.

Let's go over the matches, and see what we can find to suggest to our loyal readers here at BetDSI.

    Saturday September 12- 3 Matches

    Frosinone vs AS Roma

    3-Way: 1: Frosinone +815 Home ; X: +350 Draw ; 2: Roma -240 Away

    Spread: Frosinone +1.5 -145 ; Roma -1.5 +125

    Total 2.5: Over -120 ; Under +100

    Analysis and Prediction:

So Francesco Totti once again sat out last weekend, and there is no report, no injury status, and absolutely no reason for him to be out of the lineup, but yet there he sits on the bench.

With injuries starting to mount up for Roma in the early stages of the campaign, we might actually see the captain on the pitch this weekend.

Miralem Pjanic is likely out for the rest of September, which will also effect the Roma Champions League match upcoming with Barcelona on September 16.

Kevin Strootman also had to go under the knife for the third time since January, as his left knee is simply not healing properly, and Edin Dzeko suffered an injury to his right hand in Thursday’s 3 - 1 defeat to Belgium.

Frosinone has not exactly fared well in their first two outings in top flight Serie A, giving up two goals in each of their matches, while only being able to find the net once. Not only that, but they have allowed 51 shots on goal between the two outings.

With Roma preparing for Champions League, they should try to put this match away early to take off the pressure, so we will try to snap off this Over 2.5 at -120, because Frosinone is a mess defensively.

    Fiorentina vs Genoa

    3-Way: 1: Fiorentina -150 Home ; X: +285 Draw ; 2: Genoa +445 Away

    Spread: Fiorentina -0.5 -150 ; Genoa +0.5 +130

    Total 2.5: Over -110 ; Under -110

Bet on the Serie A at BetDSI

    Analysis and Prediction:

As good a job as Eugenio Lamanna has done in the early going standing in for Mattia Perin, it is a match like this that can be scary on the road.

Fiorentina took an early 1 - 0 lead last time out against Torino, and watched it all disappear with three goals allowed in the second half alone.

We are not going to get too crazy here, so let's just throw in the Over 2.5 at -110, expecting plenty of goals to come here, which hopefully won't take us too long to see.

    Juventus vs Chievo Verona

    3-Way: 1: Juventus -250 Home ; X: +350 Draw ; 2: Chievo +865 Away

    Spread: Juventus -1.5 +115 ; Chievo +1.5 -135

    Total 2.5: Over +105 ; Under -125

    Analysis and Prediction:

So okay, let's ask you all this. One team is on top of the table, and the other is in the 17th spot, so can you guess which club is where? It is absolutely amazing to see Chievo in first place, and at the same token it is just as unexpected to see Juventus 0 - 2 simply not playing like the club everyone has come to expect.

So the line setters have come out and said that Juventus couldn't possibly lose three straight outings, because they are the best thing since sliced bread.

Unless Pirlo, Tevez and Vidal get back here to fix it, there is nothing on this Juventus roster that is scary, because Paul Pogba certainly cannot carry this offense on his own.

The +1.5 may be -135, but there is no better play of the weekend until Juventus actually shows us that they are going to be that dominant club again.

Chievo Verona has confidence, and should not be remotely scared to go out and try to get a result, so the +1.5 is certainly a nice play, despite the -135 line.

    Sunday September 13- 7 Matches

Featured Match Inter Milan vs AC Milan

    AC Milan+255

    Draw +225

    Total 2.5:

    Over +115

    Under -135

    Analysis and Prediction:

Can we believe that the name Mario Balotelli is in the news again?

Will he be making his first appearance since returning to Milan this weekend?

From all indications, we are hearing that he should at least be making an appearance off the bench, which will likely get a mixed bag of a reaction from the San Siro crowd.

Even if he does come in the match, he will have zero impact on this result because he hasn't impacted a football game in close to two years. So why would this weekend be any different?

Hopefully the scoring happens before he gets in the match, because we see a 2 - 1 result making it to the score board when this one is said and done, so the Over 2.5 at a lovely +115 is certainly feasible for us to recommend.

    Empoli vs Napoli

    3-Way: 1: Empoli +385 Home ; X: +270 Draw ; 2: Napoli -130 Away

    Spread: Empoli +0.5 +110 ; Napoli -0.5 -130

    Total 2.5: Over -115 ; Under -105

    Analysis and Prediction:

Two words for you to take with you for this match: Goal Scoring!

How the line setters decided that -115 was enough to ask to expect goals here is beyond us, because neither club has shown the ability to defend the goal.

Simply, the Over 2.5 is your play here, and it is directly a result of watching these two defenses not ready for the new campaign.

    Hellas Verona vs Torino

    3-Way: 1: Verona +215 Home ; X: +235 Draw ; 2: Torino +135 Away

Spread: Verona Pk +125 ; Torino Pk -145

    Total 2.5: Over +100 ; Under -120

Bet on the Serie A at BetDSI

    Analysis and Prediction:

You know you are in trouble when the line setters make you an underdog at home, and Verona doesn't deserve any different the way they have played so far this campaign.

At the same token, seeing Torino go through the season undefeated is in no way going to last long either, so let's turn to the total here and see if we can expect a low-scoring game.

A 1 - 1 score sounds about right, so the Under 2.5 goes in the books as our recommendation here.

    Lazio vs Udinese

    3-Way: 1: Lazio -165 Home ; X: +290 Draw ; 2: Udinese +515 Away

    Spread: Lazio -1 +115 ; Udinese +1 -135

    Total 2.5: Over +105 ; Under -125

    Analysis and Prediction:

Lazio once again showed us that they cannot win away from home, and we cashed a pretty nice ticket with Chievo last time out because of it.

At home, however, Lazio is a terror to try to score on and Udinese on the road the last few years has been absolutely miserable, so with both of those facts in mind, the -1 handicap with Lazio goes on the board as the recommendation at +115.

    Sampdoria vs Bologna

    3-Way: 1: Sampdoria -120 Home ; X: +260 Draw ; 2: Bologna +360 Away

    Spread: Sampdoria -0.5 -120 ; Bologna +0.5 +100

    Total 2.5: Over +105 ; Under -125

    Analysis and Prediction:

Bologna is not going to win a road game this season, and they'll be lucky to stay in top flight Serie A when the season comes to an end.

Sampdoria thinks of themselves as the team to beat this season, although they couldn't get by Napoli last time out, having to settle for a 2 - 2 draw.

Do you see that +105 sitting on that total to go Over?

Take it, and enjoy the carnival of goal scoring that we expect to see in this match.

    Palermo vs Carpi

    3-Way: 1: Palermo -185 Home ; X: +300 Draw ; 2: Carpi +600 Away

    Spread: Palermo -1 -105 ; Carpi +1 -115

    Total 2.5: Over +100 ; Under -120

Bet on the Serie A at BetDSI

    Analysis and Prediction:

There is only one club in Serie A who has yet to allow a goal this campaign, and Palermo happens to be that squad.

Carpi, on the other hand, has not come up totop flight and shown that they are to be taken seriously yet, so the Over 2.5 is going on this board, because Palermo should be able to break out for three of their own goals against Carpi at Renzo Barbera.

With even money ( +100 ) on the action, over a weekend that we expect a good bit of goal scoring to take place all around the league, the offer we put on the board comes with the Over 2.5.

    Sassuolo vs Atalanta

    3-Way: 1: Sassuolo +125 Home ; X: +225 Draw ; 2: Atalanta +250 Away

    Spread: Sassuolo -0.5 +125 ; Atalanta +0.5 -145

    Total 2: Over -145 ; Under +125

    Analysis and Prediction:

As we suggested a handful of Overs this weekend, there is no way we are going near that type of suggestion for the match at Mapei Stadium.

Atalanta on the road is always a scary proposition, and we have no confidence in their ability to go on the road and have much success scoring.

The line setters have the same feeling, as they have brought this total down to a straight 2, but yet juice the Over at -145?

This could be a long match that will feel like watching paint dry, so our final suggestion of the round comes in as the Under 2 at +125.

A 1 - 0 or a scoreless draw is our expectation, so let's see if they will struggle scoring as we almost see when Atalanta goes on the road.
