    By  Ej Garr

Soccer Betting: Wayne Rooney of Manchester United scored two goals this past weekend in a 2 - 0 win against Sunderland, which now sets him apart from all who have ever worn a uniform in Premier League. Finally finding the score sheet after an 8-match goal-less drought in Premier League competition, Rooney became the first player to have 11 consecutive 10+ goal seasons.

His club takes on Newcastle at St. James' Parkon Wednesday, which is also when we will see our featured match of the weekend, Swansea vs Tottenham.

The round kicks offon Tuesdaywith three matches, and continues intoWednesdayto finish out the round. After this round, almost everyone will have the upcoming weekend to rest, except Queens Park and Tottenham, who make up their moved match from last weekend due to the Capital One Cup final playedon Sundaywith Chelsea. The Spurs lost the final 2 - 0, and now have to play two matcheson WednesdayandSaturday.

With only 11 rounds left in the campaign, it leaves 33 points available to each club down the stretch, so let's get to the pitch and see what we can expect from the short-rested round.

    Tuesday, March 3 - 3Matches

    West Brom vs Aston Villa

    3-Way: 1: West Brom +205 Away ; X: +205 Draw ; 2: Aston Villa +160 Home

Spread: West Brom Pk +105 ; Aston VIlla Pk -125

    Total 2: Over +100 ; Under -120

    Analysis and Prediction:

Aston Villa has now gone 12 straight matches without a win in league play, and finds themselves a mere four points away from the EPL basement. They are one of the 12 clubs who have a negative ratio of GF/GA, scoring only 13 goals at this point of the season.

West Brom comes off a near-perfect performance against Southampton this weekend, in a 1 - 0 win, stretching their streak of getting results to four straight.

This shapes up to be a low-scoring battle of clubs going in different directions at the moment, but there is certainly some value in the Pk at +105 with West Brom. The Baggies should be able to find another result of some type here, and the Draw no Bet option is far enough to expect the Villa struggles to continue.

    Sunderland vs Hull City

    3-Way: 1: Sunderland +275 Away ; X: +235 Draw ; 2: Hull City +110 Home

    Spread: Sunderland +0.5 -130 ; Hull -0.5 +110

    Total 2: Over -125 ; Under +105

    Analysis and Prediction:

Two clubs who find themselves a point apart just outside of the relegation battle face off to try to ease the pressure going forward. Whichever club walks out of KC Stadium with 3 points will make their lives much easier for the stretch run of the campaign, and the line setters expect Hull City, the home side, to be that club. After Sunderland had taken the first 7 meetings between the two dating back to 2006, Hull City has taken the last 4 meetings, which includes one FA cup fixture in the mix.

We are in agreement with the line makers, and will take our chances with Hull as the club finding a way to the win, so the 3-Way +110 action on the home side goes in the books.

    Crystal Palace vs Southampton

    3-Way: 1: C Palace +440 Away ; X: +265 Draw ; 2: Southampton -140 Home

    Spread: C Palace +0.5 +120 ; Southampton -0.5 -140

    Total 2.5: Over +115 ; Under -135

Bet on the English Premier League at BetDSI

    Analysis and Prediction:

Once again, Southampton found a way to look bad this weekend, and a club that was a staple at the top of the table most of the year, has now fallen out of all European contention.

Even in the loss the Eagles suffered to Arsenal, Crystal Palace has been playing rather well in their last 4 outings. They have jumped to 12th in the table, after a poor start which most thought they would not be able to recover from.

Southampton is certainly struggling with scoring, and even though they should be able to find the net maybe once, they will not keep Palace off the score sheet. We expect to see 1 - 1 as a valid result to suggest the +0.5 on the away side at +120.

    Wednesday, March 4 - 7Matches

    Featured Match Swansea vs Tottenham

    3-Way 1x2 Lines:

    Swansea +400

    Draw +275

    Swansea +0.5 +115

    Tottenham -0.5 -135

    Total 2.5:

    Over -115

    Under -105

    Analysis and Prediction:

Tottenham put up a good fight this weekend in the Capital Cup final against Chelsea, but it was not good enough, and all that work ends up going for nothing. Second place in the Cup doesn't get you anything, and now they have to face a mid-week match with Swansea, and then regroup to make up the match that was pushed forward from this past weekend.

Both clubs are going to need just about every point available if they hope to find their way to a European destination and Swansea has the most ground to make up. They sit 8 points out of the spot Liverpool holds entering the round, while the Spurs are only 4 points back of the Europa League spot that comes with 5th place at year's end.

We expect a wide open affair here, and a simple 2 - 1 seems like a score we could see by the hour mark. This match will not end 2 - 1, and we should see at least 4 goals out of White Hart Lane today. Take the Over 2.5 at a reasonable -115, and plan on cashing that ticket early.

    Leicester City vs Manchester City

    3-Way: 1: Leicester +1025 Away ; X: +515 Draw ; 2: Man City -375 Home

    Spread: Leicester +1.5 +115 ; Man City -1.5 -135

    Total 3: Over -125 ; Under +105

Bet on the English Premier League at BetDSI

    Analysis and Prediction:

Leicester was down 1 - 0, and mustered up the strength to end up with a 2 - 1 lead on Everton on their way to a much-needed win. That all went down the drain with an own goal with just minutes remaining, and when things are going wrong, those are the types of things that define a season. Finding ways to lose is something that happens to plenty of clubs, in every sport in the world, and right now Aston Villa and Leicester just seem to have it all against them.

Man City missed out on a golden opportunity to make up some ground on the Chelsea lead in the table. Chelsea had to settle for a draw the week before, and had the weekend off from EPL due to the Cap Cup.

We have never been convinced that the Man City defense is worth their weight in silver, and they continue to show break downs at the most inopportune times.

Even though this total is 3, both clubs should have success finding the net needed to, at worst, push the ticket, so we are going with a suggestion on the Over 3, and understand why they are making us pay for it at -125.

    Manchester United vs Newcastle United

    3-Way: 1: Man U +100 Away ; X: +240 Draw ; 2: Newcastle +300 Home

    Spread: Man U -0.5 +100 ; Newcastle +0.5 -120

    Total 2.5: Over +115 ; Under -135

    Analysis and Prediction:

We know Van Persie is still down, as he will be for a spell, but we question what Van Gaal was thinking when he pulled Di Maria so early in the match last weekend. He provided plenty of push in the first half, and looked like the best option they had up front. Radamel Falcao might have had one of his best matches with the club as well, and he got a huge ovation from the Man U fans as he came off, which he really needed to experience to refill his confidence.

Obviously, we mentioned the Wayne Rooney accomplishment and what a stat that is. The only man in the history of Premier League with 11 seasons of 10 or more goals. He tallied on the PK opportunity to make it 1 - 0 after Falcao was dragged down in the box, and converted again after a keeper save, and rebound header chance late in the match.

What we need to keep in mind is that Newcastle plays pretty damn well at home, and they are not going to feel intimidated a bit. Man U has been average away from home at best, and this match should be one of the best of the weekend, despite the 15 points that separates them in the table.

The line setters expect them both to score, and so do we, so the Over 2.5 will be our suggestion here. Now we have to hope they don't settle for 1 - 1, and one of them can find the third goal we need.

    Arsenal vs Queens Park

    3-Way: 1: Arsenal -185 Away ; X: +330 Draw ; 2: QPR +525 Home

    Spread: Arsenal -1 -115 ; QPR +1 -105

    Total 3: Over +105 ; Under -125

Bet on the English Premier League at BetDSI

    Analysis and Prediction:

We snuck in the Under last weekend with Arsenal and Everton, and we do not expect anything similar to that result here. Arsenal is on their way to leading the league in scoring, and have not been stopped one bit since the holidays. Since January hit, the Gunners have scored 25 goals in 11 fixtures from all competitions, and QPR is certainly not the club that is going to slow someone down.

We are suggesting both the Arsenal -1 handicap, and the Over 3, each with reasonable lines to take advantage of. How about a score call of 3 - 1, and let's see how close we come!

    Everton vs Stoke City

    3-Way: 1: Everton +205 Away ; X: +220 Draw ; 2: Stoke +150 Home

Spread: Everton Pk +115 ; Stoke Pk -135

    Total 2: Over -140 ; Under +120

    Analysis and Prediction:

Peter Crouch comes on the pitch last weekend, and wastes not a single minute before finding the net to earn a 1 - 0 win for Stoke City this past weekend. It is amazing how a manager just knows that moment to make a move, andMark Hughes got the Potters 3 important points. It made sense to make the move, since they were dreadful in creating opportunities in a match where we saw only 2 shots on goal with Hull and Stoke.

We know that Everton's Tim Howard gives any club a decent chance to get a result, even though this has been a rough campaign for the Blues.

We don't see much happening here, and this Under 2 at +120 has enough value to chase the action. There simply should not be 3 goals to come out of Britannia today.

    Chelsea vs West Ham

    3-Way: 1: Chelsea -165 Away ; X: +300 Draw ; 2: West Ham +500 Home

    Spread: Chelsea -1 +100 ; West Ham +1 -120

    Total 2.5: Over -120 ; Under +100

Bet on the English Premier League at BetDSI

    Analysis and Prediction:

West Ham cannot approach this match hoping to get into a back-and-forth, up-and-down game. They do not even closely resemble the offensive prowess of Chelsea, so we would expect them to hang back for as long as they can, and just try to limit the chances.

Chelsea comes off the Capital One Cup victory over the weekend, and now only has a couple of days to regroup for a less-than exciting match with West Ham. We are taking this Under 2.5 at -120, simply because Chelsea does not need to go out and kill West Ham to maintain their lead in the table. A 1 - 0 score will suit them fine, and Chelsea certainly wants to work on their defense with Paris SG coming up in Champions League.

    Burnley vs Liverpool

    3-Way: 1: Burnley +800 Away ; X: +400 Draw ; 2: Liverpool -275 Home

    Spread: Burnley +1.5 -130 ; Liverpool -1.5 +110

    Total 3: Over +105 ; Under -125

    Analysis and Prediction:

As bad as Burnley is, taking a Liverpool Over 3 would be like expecting to hit the lottery without buying a ticket. We know the Reds are not that offensively talented. It is Coutinho or bust for this club as far as scoring goes, and Burnley should know who they need to keep off the score sheet if they plan on stopping Liverpool.

We will suggest this Under 3, and if it is 2 - 1, so be it, no harm, no foul and we live to bet another day.
