Soccer Betting: In an exciting opening round with upsets and surprises all around the Premiership, the campaign continues into the second weekend with 10 clubs making their home openers. Five clubs went on the road on opening weekend and took three points to open the 2015-16 campaign, with seven clubs overall holding a first place tie atop the table to get us started.

Among some of the surprises in the first fixtures of the year were Arsenal who was held to a clean sheet in their home opener against West Ham, and Chelsea, who gave up a lead to only take one point at Stamford Bridge against Swansea. Chelsea lost their goalkeeper early in the first half and had to finish out most of the second half a man down, and were lucky to only give up one goal and essentially salvage a point to open the campaign.

Neither of the three new entrants to top flight had much success to open the year, as Bournemouth and Norwich lost, although Watford did take a point at Goodison Park against Everton.

Our featured match of the four-day weekend happenson Sundayat Etihad Stadium, with Chelsea hoping to regroup against Manchester City who took three away points from West Brom to get their campaign started.

Let's see what we can expect around the league this weekend.

    Friday, August 14- 1 Match

    Aston Villa vs Manchester United

    3-Way: 1: Aston Villa +495 Home ; X: +285 Draw ; 2: Man U -160 Away

    Spread: Aston Villa +1 -135 ; Man U -1 +115

    Total 2.5: Over +115 ; Under -135

    Analysis and Prediction:

Man United took a 1 - 0 victory over Tottenham to get their year underway, and the only ball that found the back of the net came from an own goal by Kyle Walker.

The Red Devils put up just a single shot on frame in the match, but yet earned three points because of a defensive mistake. Hey, three points are three points no matter how they happen. The possession battle was evenly split and they each put up 9 overall shots, as Argentinian goalkeeper Sergio Romero officially gets credit for a clean sheet in his first start in Premier League.

Aston Villa took on newcomers Bournemouth to open the campaign, and came away with an away win at Dean Court to get their campaign started.

Rudy Gestede came on as a sub just before the hour mark, and only needed until the 72nd minute to tilt the match in favor of the Villans.

Manchester United is 9 - 3 - 0 in the last 12 meetings, and has an obnoxious 31 Win, 7 Draw and 2 Loss record since the 1998 campaign against Villa, spanning 40 outings in all competitions.

The Aston Villa +1 is right on the edge of our comfort zone at -135, and we expect them to compete with Man U for long enough to not get beat by two goals at Villa Park to open their home schedule.

    Saturday, August 15- 6 Matches

    Southampton vs Everton

    3-Way: 1: Southampton -110 Home ; X: +245 Draw ; 2: Everton +333 Away

    Spread: Southampton -0.5 -110 ; Everton +0.5 -110

    Total 2.5: Over +115 ; Under -135

Bet on the English Premier League at BetDSI

    Analysis and Prediction:

Southampton and Everton have each taken home victories over the past two campaigns, and in 20 meetings since the 1998 season only once has the away side taken three points.Everton took a 1 - 0 victory at St Mary's in 2002 as that only win.

Both clubs enter this weekend with a point from their opening day draws. Southampton stole a point from Newcastle at St James Park, despite taking a 1 - 0 lead early in the match.Graziano Pellè scored for the Saints in the 24th minute, but with time winding down in the first halfPapiss Cissé leveled the match at one for the Magpies. MidfielderGeorginio Wijnaldum gave Newcastle a 2 - 1 lead just three minutes into the second half, and the lead never seemed comfortable.

Southampton did not allow another second half shot, while finding the equalizer 11 minutes from time.

Southampton missed a golden opportunity to steal all three points in the 94th minute, but the shot rode wide of the net off the boot of Sadio Mane, and he fell to the ground wondering what might have been.

Everton hosted incoming Watford at Goodison Park, and had to come back twice to salvage a home point against the new arrivals.

Watford came out the aggressor, and scored just before the 15-minute mark of the match to make it 1 - 0. Mexican defensemanMiguel Layún was basically was left alone at the top of the box after a poor clearance from the Everton defense.

Everton waited until the 76th minute to draw the match level after a goal from Ross Barkley, but the Blues surrendered a second goal in the 83rd to Watford's Nigerian nationalmidfielder Odion Ighalo. With only four minutes remaining in regulation, Everton converted with their second goal in a 10-minute span to secure the home draw and, at worst, salvage a point.

Southampton was 11 - 4 - 4 last season at St Mary's, so we expect them to come out shooting as they have all pre-season, and now into opening weekend.

We will offer their total this time around after pushing the Southampton Pk Offer on opening weekend, and we hope catch the line setters sleeping while offering a +115 on the expectation of three goals finding the net.

We believe that these two will both score, and the Over 2.5 is our suggested offer as mentioned at +115.

    Sunderland vs Norwich City

    3-Way: 1: Sunderland +150 Home ; X: +220 Draw ; 2: Norwich +205 Away

Spread: Sunderland Pk -130 ; Norwich Pk +110

    Total 2.5: Over +130 ; Under -150

    Analysis and Prediction:

Norwich wasted no time earning their way back to top flight after only one season at second tier, and the Canaries got to open their campaign at Carrow Road, only to lose in emphatic fashion to Crystal Palace.

We are not complaining about that 3 - 1 score, since we offered the +125 on the Over 2.5 in the match if you read our opening day preview.

While Norwich lost at home to open the campaign, Sunderland took a pretty good beating against Leicester, surrendering four goals after going down 3 - 0 before the half-hour mark of the match.

Now these two get together and the line setters once again offer us a gift of a price on the total.

We are not going to complain about the +130 we see on the Over 2.5 here, with both clubs coming off losses while combining to allow seven goals a weekend ago.

Play that total and expect those three goals to cash your Over 2.5 tickets.

    Swansea City vs Newcastle

    3-Way: 1: Swansea -110 Home ; X: +255 Draw ; 2: Newcastle +325 Away

    Spread: Swansea -0.5 -110 ; Newcastle +0.5 -110

    Total 2.5: Over +100 ; Under -120

Bet on the English Premier League at BetDSI

    Analysis and Prediction:

Swansea did not surprise at all last weekend, as we easily cashed the +1.5 handicap play. They managed to walk into Stamford Bridge and draw with Chelsea to open the campaign.

Obviously, we didn't expect the new Chelsea goalkeeper to pick up a red card and cost his team in that fashion, but Chelsea is certainly overrated entering the campaign.

That's not to say that Chelsea doesn't have the goods to repeat their double hardware season from a year ago, but nothing is a given this season in England.

Newcastle, as we mentioned, came within a foot or so of losing 3 - 2 to Southampton last weekend at home, and have to hope that they do not repeat their lack of success away from home from last year. The Magpies were only better than QPR with their lack of away success, and Queens Park was sent down to second tier stemming from those road issues and Newcastle was lucky to remain in top flight.

Swansea is 5 - 1 - 0 in the last six meetings, and we expect that success to continue at Liberty Stadium this weekend, so the -110, 3-Way line for Swansea to take all three points is the prediction we offer in this match.

    Tottenham vs Stoke City

    3-Way: 1: Tottenham -135 Home ; X: +280 Draw ; 2: Stoke +385 Away

    Spread: Tottenham -0.5 -135 ; Stoke +0.5 +115

    Total 2.5: Over -105 ; Under -115

    Analysis and Prediction:

Harry Kane was kept relatively quiet in the Hotspurs 1 - 0 loss to Manchester United at Old Trafford. He took three shots but didn't manage to direct either of them on frame. They were, of course, handed a loss after the unfortunate own goal from Kyle Walker, as we mentioned previously.

Stoke City also lost their home opener 1- 0, after going toe to toe with Liverpool for 85 minutes. After a glorious strike from Coutinho just four minutes from the end of regulation time, the Reds came away with a win in their first season without Steven Gerrard, who made over 500 appearances in 17 years with the club.

Neither club scored on opening weekend, but we expect that to be the case at White Hart Lane this weekend, so the Under 2.5 at -115 goes in as our play offered in this match.

    Watford vs West Brom

    3-Way: 1: Watford +125 Home ; X: +240 Draw ; 2: West Brom +230 Away

Spread: Watford Pk -165 ; West Brom Pk +140

    Total 2.5: Over +105 ; Under -125

Bet on the English Premier League at BetDSI

    Analysis and Prediction:

Watford gets to host their home opener at Vicarage Road, after drawing with Everton to open their first campaign in top flight since the 2006-07 campaign.

They did surrender a one-goal lead twice last weekend, and looked almost exactly like the club who scored 91 goals in second tier a year ago to earn their way back to top flight.

West Brom put up a disastrous season opening match last weekend, closing out the first weekendon Mondaywith a 3 - 0 loss to Manchester City at The Hawthornes.

Yaya Tour's brace led the way in the first half, as he scored both of his goals before the half hour mark of the match. Vincent Kompany put the match away in the 59th minute, to make it 3 - 0 and comfortably earn Man City three points.

We are not going to offer the Watford Under until they hit one, as it cost us a play last weekend expecting them to struggle against Everton.

The Over 2.5 at +105 seems like a fair enough offer to expect a 2 - 1 match at the worst at Vicarage Road.

    West Ham vs Leicester City

    3-Way: 1: West Ham +125 Home ; X: +240 Draw ; 2: Leicester +225 Away

Spread: West Ham Pk -160 ; Leicester Pk +135

    Total 2.5: Over -115 ; Under -105

    Analysis and Prediction:

Both West Ham and Leicester provided surprises on opening weekend, with West Ham taking out Arsenal in their London derby, and Leicester scoring three goals before the half-hour mark of their home opener against Sunderland.

If you recall our previews last season when it came to Leicester matches, we could not play the Over often enough, cashing numerous tickets a season ago with their totals. We made the mistake of forgetting that on opening day after six goals found the net, which was offered at +125 on that Over 2.5 last weekend.

We turn right back to that attitude this weekend, and offer the play on the Over 2.5 at -115.

    Sunday, August 16- 2 Matches

Featured Match Manchester City vs Chelsea

    3-Way 1x2 Lines:

    Man City +110

    Chelsea +270

    Draw +240

    Man City -0.5 +110

    Chelsea +0.5 -130

    Total 2.5:

    Over +100

    Under -120

Bet on the English Premier League at BetDSI

    Analysis and Prediction:

Obviously the Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois is suspended this weekend after being sent off last weekend, so that will likely mean that Asmir Begovic will be in net as Jose Mourinho's squad looks for their first win of the campaign.

We would say the loss of Petr Cech might be worth talking about for the Blues, but after seeing Cech let in two easy goals last weekend in the Arsenal loss, maybe Chelsea called that timing perfectly.

Regardless, Begovic is no slouch in net and can handle the task of helping Chelsea get back on track this weekend.

Manchester City is not interested in helping Chelsea while they are down, and we can expect that Mourinho will do all in his power to get his club to slow down Toure and Kompany ... and company, if you will.

Both meetings a season ago ended with 1 - 1 draws, and the line setters do expect them both to score from what we see, with that prop bet offered at -125 at most outlets.

We agree, and expect this match to go Over the 2.5 goals offered, despite Mourinho being able to go on the road in his career and keep opponents frustrated.

Even money action on the Over 2.5 goes in as our suggestion.

    Crystal Palace vs Arsenal

    3-Way: 1: C. Palace +425 Home ; X: +290 Draw ; 2: Arsenal -145 Away

    Spread: C. Palace +0.5 +125 ; Arsenal -0.5 -145

    Total 2.5: Over -115 ; Under -105

    Analysis and Prediction:

The line setters are making it pretty clear that they expect Arsenal to rebound from the opening day defeat to West Ham at Emirates Stadium.

Arsenal has, indeed, never lost to Crystal Palace in six attempts since the 2004-05 campaign, while sweeping the Eagles in each of the last two seasons.

Crystal Palace is in a first place tie ... and remember, we said that because the odds of hearing that again will be slim as the campaign progresses.

For now, Arsenal faces another London squad who wants to prove that the 3 - 1 defeat of Norwich was just a stepping stone, and not a fluke over a new arrival to the league.

With Petr Cech looking extremely out of his element last weekend, and Arsenal needing to get on the score sheet, we predict that someone is walking out of Selhurst Park with a 2 - 1 win, so the Over 2.5 at -115 makes our suggestion box in this one.

    Monday, August 17- 1 Match

    Liverpool vs Bournemouth

    3-Way: 1: Liverpool -230 Home ; X: +360 Draw ; 2: Bournemouth +680 Away

    Spread: Liverpool -1 -135 ; Bournemouth +1 +115

    Total 2.5: Over -135 ; Under +115

Bet on the English Premier League at BetDSI

    Analysis and Prediction:

Liverpool looked lethargic last weekend, and if not for a Coutinho miracle snap shot that just got by Jack Butland's outstretched left hand, we would be talking about a club who barely earned a point, but now has three.

Bournemouth lost 1 - 0 to Aston Villa at home last weekend, and we benefited from that result cashing the Under 2.5 suggestion offered on the match.

We see more of the same, and think the acquisition of Benteke is a waste of time for Liverpool this season, almost reminding us of the wasted money the Reds spent on Balotelli last campaign.

The Under 2.5 goes in as our final suggestion of the round at Anfield, with a decent +115 price attached to it.
