MLS Online Betting: Portland still has their sights set on making a return to the Conference Finals in only their 4th season on the MLS. With only 4 games remaining until the playoffs, Vancouver and Portland sit a point apart vying for the 5th and final spot available in the Western Conference.

San Jose is in the midst of a 10-game winless streak, with only 6 wins through 29 games played. There isn't much positive to find as you break down the Earthquake season, although maybe they can give thanks that Chivas is keeping them from being in the basement. Yes, it’s that bad!

Portland is actually one of the better road teams in the MLS, finding 19 of their 39 points on the season. Scoring has certainly not been an issue either, finding the net 54 times in 30 games played. The problem is they have given up 51 GA, so that is surely something they need to address.

Time again to break down the head-to-head numbers, do some analyzing and make a play on the game.

    Quick Analysis & Prediction

Portland is playing to keep their playoffs hopes alive while San Jose is just finishing out the schedule with next year in mind. I was surprised to see such a reasonable price on Portland and the Handicap Pk with a draw, returning our bet at +Money, knowing they are the ones who are taking every game as if it is their last with hopes to remain in the playoff hunt.

San Jose is mixing and matching, trying to figure out who or what they can look to as they prepare for the 2015 campaign while trying to get Chris Wondolowski someone to play with up front. GK Jon Busch has had a decent season overall though, as the former MLS P.O.Y brings plenty of experience with him, but at 38 years old might be seeing the last days of his career winding down.

Hard not to see the value on the Handicap Pick (Draw No Bet) with Portland in this spot. I find making a play on the team that is still playing for something vs a team that has not found a win in its last 10 games overall as an option worth taking. What has San Jose shown to the line setters and bettors that would change that as they look to next year? Not enough to this bettor!

Portland Pk is the play recommended to make with a nice price attached to it at close to even money on the action.
