MLS Soccer: New England Revolution vs Orlando City
Thursday, May 7th, 2015By
MLS Odds: The New England Revolution makes their first appearance at the Citrus Bowl to face Orlando City, with the Lions still looking for their first ever win at home. The Revs find themselves tied at the top of the Eastern Conference standings with DC United with 17 points, after starting the year 0 - 2. They have now gone seven straight games without a loss, and come off a 2 - 1 win after handing the Red Bulls their first defeat of the season.
Charlie Davies scored his third goal in as many games less than 10 minutes into the match, after taking a feed from London Woodberry on the right wing. The diving header led to an absolute gem of a goal, as Woodberry found Davies right at the top of the six-yard box with two defenders around him.
The second goal came at the hour mark, after a turnover from Dax McCarty led New England to a transition goal. Seven fantastic passes were completed to find Bunbury alone at the top of the box, who made no mistake after a one touch pass from Lee Nguyen.
Orlando City still has yet to give their fans a celebration at home, facing a 0 - 3 - 1 record in four games played at the Citrus Bowl. After an opening day draw with NYCFC, they have now lost three straight home outings, and have lost three of their last four overall.
Last weekend against Toronto at home, Jozy Altidore found the net twice in the second half to give Toronto a much needed win, to end their seven game road trip and start the year with a 3 - 4 record. Toronto will play their first home game of the season this weekend.
Orlando City has not gelled well on the offensive side of the ball as of late They were held scoreless in three of their last four matches, and are still without a handful of players due to injury. All five Orlando City players listed on the MLS injury report are forwards and midfielders, although their back up net minder is also on the shelf with a torn ACL.

Quick Analysis & Prediction
This is probably not the best time to host New England for the Lions, whose injuries and lack of presence up front does not bode well in facing a red hot New England club who gas put the 0 - 2 start to the year well behind them.
There was quite an ending to the NY/NE match last weekend, with tempers flaring and emotions riding high in the rivalry once again. Players and even coaches were involved in the melee that ensued at the end of the game.
Orlando City is simply not MLS ready at the moment and, even with the presence of Kaka, just do not have the skill to compete at this level, in our opinion at least.
We see the best result that Orlando City could hope to find would be a home draw, because New England is coming into the match with guns blazing, and easily has a skill level that Orlando City cannot match at the moment.
To see an even money line on the Revs with a Draw no Bet in place, is certainly the easiest suggestion we could make here. The line setters seem to be suggesting that Orlando City might put up a fight, but we do not think that is likely to happen.
While, yes, the +185 is a tremendous value for the Revs to take three points, being greedy can sometimes cost you in the long run, so at +100, the Revs Pk goes on the board.
