MLS Soccer: Houston vs Seattle
Thursday, April 2nd, 2015By Ej Garr
MLS Odds: Both the Houston Dynamo and Seattle Sounders played to scoreless draws last weekend, and it was clear that the players who were missing for international duty certainly affected both teams.
Houston got involved with another Colorado Rapids 0 - 0 match last weekend, which we know that the Rapids have played to in all three of their matches that they played in 2015. There was no doubt that when we gave out that Under in that game last weekend, we would cash that ticket. It was clear from the opening whistle that it was going to be a long night in Denver, and it surely was. There were five official shots on goal, and maybe one of those five actually posed a threat, and saying ‘maybe’ is being generous.
Seattle also looked completely out of sorts after a scoreless draw of their own without Dempsey, Pappa and the others who were gone to international duty. Obafemi Martins was also a late scratch for Seattle after taking a knock in the Tijuana friendly.
Dallas found themselves down a man in the 17th minute when Acosta got tossed after a strange decision from the referee for a harsh tackle, but it did not seem harsh enough to deserve to be sent off.
There was not one official shot on goal in the Dallas / Seattle game last weekend, although Michel did ring a free kick just outside the 18 off the crossbar. It almost gave Dallas a 1 - 0 lead while down a man just before the half hour mark.
Seattle did not create their first real scoring chance until the 54th minute, when Chad Barrett failed to convert a header opportunity after a great cross from pressing defender Gonzalez on the left flank. Barrett also had another opportunity later in the match, but the shot sailed just wide of the net.

Total O/U 2.5:
Quick Analysis & Prediction
These two have actually met 14 times between MLS, Cups and friendlies, and Seattle has the only road victory in the series, which came at the 2009 U.S. Cup. Other than that, the home team has dominated the series, and Houston has never come out of Seattle with 3 points.
It looks like Clint Dempsey will again be out of the lineup this weekend due to a hamstring issue. Martins, Marshall and Alonso are all questionable this weekend as well, although they are being reported as a game time decision.
Obviously, we suggest that you make sure of the final lineups before making a play, but we didn’t have that advantage when we submitted this article days before the game kicks off.
Well, again, it is tough to make a solid prediction for this match, knowing there are so many question marks coming into the game.
If Seattle as at full complement, they will surely have an advantage at home and, as we pointed out, the home teams in this series has had a ton of success.
Again please check your lineups, but for now, we will offer the Under 2.5, with two netminders we do know will be in the lineup no matter who else can go or is sitting out. Tyler Deric has played stellar ball so far, despite the own goal to Orlando a couple of weeks back, which we know was just a misplayed ball.
This Under 2.5 is our suggestion at -110, but again, be aware of the starting XI, and take into consideration that Seattle is banged up and could be without some of their main guys in this one.
