MLS Soccer Betting: Vancouver vs NYCFC
Friday, September 25th, 2015By Ej Garr
MLS Odds: The Vancouver Whitecaps enter the weekend on the verge of a playoff berth, with the chance to become the first team in the Western Conference to clinch a post-season appearance this weekend against NYCFC. With a win over the expansion New York side at home, combined with a draw between Real Salt Lake and San Jose, the Whitecaps can hope to add to their Canadian Championship. The potential for a Supporters Shield honor holds home field advantage through the post-season.
Vancouver enters the weekend tied with the New York Bulls with 48 points, but eight clubs around the entirety of MLS have at least 45 points, which will make October rather interesting as the regular season winds down.
The Whitecaps have been alternating wins and losses in their last six games in MLS action, but are also coming off two straight 3 - 0 losses to Seattle. The first loss to Seattle came last weekend in MLS action, while the Sounders took another 3 - 0 victory over the Canadian Champs at CenturyLink Field this week in the CONCACAF Champions League.
Vancouver has a home and home series with Dallas left among their remaining games in league play, which will come after their stop at Avaya Stadium against San Jose next weekend. They will finish the regular season with a home game against Houston on the final weekend.
NYCFC is on the brink of playoff elimination in their first MLS campaign, but have a two-game win streak in tow as they head to BC Place this weekend.
New York City will have three games left in their inaugural season upon exiting Vancouver, as this kicks off a road trip that will see them at RFK Stadium and the Citrus Bowl along the way.
NYCFC has five points to make up on Montreal if they plan on making a post-season appearance in their first season on the league, and with the veteran leadership likes of Andrea Pirlo, David Villa and Frank Lampard, the three should not be fazed by the gravity of the situation, and provide what the team paid a good amount of money to get when it comes to these situations.
In New York City’s most recent win over San Jose, the Yankee Stadium crowd saw New York jump out to a 3-0 lead and almost gave it away. Ned Grabavoy scored twice while David Villa added his 16th goal of the season, but New York gave up two late goals and almost settled for a draw.

Quick Analysis & Prediction
How many goals can we predict we will see in this affair? Five? Maybe even six or more?
These two should provide plenty of scoring, as New York has not allowed less than two goals in their last four road games, and have struggled all season to stop their opponents away from Yankee Stadium.
If a simple -110 is the offer, than the Over 3 is the play in our opinion, because we see a 3 - 2 or 3 - 3 type of game coming to fruition here at BC Place.
The weather in Vancouver is going to be perfect for football. Expect a sunny day with a high temp in the low 60s, so there will be no reason to run out of gas due to heat or humidity.
The Over 3 is our offered play, and we should see that number by the hour mark at the least.
