MLS Soccer Betting: Seattle vs New York City FC
Friday, May 1st, 2015By Ej Garr
MLS Odds:The team from the apple state makes their way to the Big Apple for the only time in 2015, and Yankee Stadium will be the setting for the Sounders and NYCFC gameon SundayNight on Fox1, at9:30p.m. Eastern time. The only remaining game for the Sounders against either New York team will be against the Red Bulls in Seattle on the last day of May.
Seattle is starting to get it together, and we all know that getting these big personalities in Seattle to work together is going to be what gets them closer to a second straight Supporters Shield. The Sounders have found a result in four of their last five games, including three wins and a draw, and did it with some injuries to significant players on the squad.
We saw what a healthy Sounders team does under some pressure, as the 1 - 0 win for their first Cascadia Cup game with Portland was a type of Seattle needs through the season. We all know they can score, and have tremendous names in the front 5 that now have some tenure together, and it is clear to see that they are working together at a pretty high level, but of course they will need to have Dempsey and Martins both on the field for it all to be complete.
NYC is struggling with figuring out not only the MLS teams they are facing, but also how to deal with Yankee Stadium. We will mention it every time they are here in the baseball park, that it shouldn't be used for soccer, but there is nothing any one can do about it for now.
GK Ryan Meara did a tremendous job in net against Chicago to keep that game at only 1 – 0. They had to finish nearly 70 minutes with only 10 men, after MF Andy Jacobson's straight red card, which will also leave him out of the lineup for this game.
David Villa sat out the game, and there are now seven NYCFC players on the official injury list put out by the MLS website.
Coach Jason Kreis is being put to the test early in his first season on the bench for NYC, and has had to make adjustments since opening day. He also lost two starters from last week's starting XI to hamstring injuries. Adam Nemec and Javier Calle both had to be subbed for only four minutes apart late in the first half.

Quick Analysis & Prediction
Well, one team is healthy and one team isn't, and that is certainly worth noting as we approach the analysis portion of the preview. Seattle has put their injury issues behind them, and are putting the team on the field they want in place in expectation of three points each time. Figuring out Yankee Stadium will be tricky, although they will likely appreciate the grass in the outfield, instead of that carpet they play on at home.
Should we play the, 'name the starting XI' game for Kreis? A lot to figure out this week as to who he thinks can start bringing some results, because one win in eight matches doesn't look promising so far.
If the line setters want to be generous enough to only make us pay $30 for a Draw no Bet play, then we will be thankful enough to put the Seattle Pk action on the board at -130.
We do not need to work at NASA to know that the talent level on this field far and away favors the Sounders, and even if they both can only manage a 0 - 0 or 1 - 0 type of game on that little field, so be it. It will not affect us in the least, and the money back that comes from a draw is no issue for us at all.
